I would use a dozen to two dozen decoys. Get some teal decoys and either mallard or maybe gadwall. If you get mallards, just use the hens early season. I usually only use a peep or whistle call, unless I know mallards are coming in. In terms of calling, I don't use unless I need to get the attention of the ducks, and hopefully when they are turning and not directly overhead. It is more important that you keep still until the ducks are in range than how much you call. Keep the calling to mininum.

It depends on a couple of things: 1. Which barrel fires first (you can select that on the shotgun) 2. What are you hunting. If I am quail hunting, for example, my first barrel is usually set with CYL, and the second barrel on Mod. If I am duck hunting early season, my first barrel is set on Mod and the second on IMP. Late season ducks IMP Cyl and IMP. I am assuming that IMP is what I call improved/modified, which is a touch tighter than Imp cyl. I tend to work under the pretense that your first shot on birds is going to be the closest target, and the second is a shot at birds moving away. The best thing is to play with it and see what works for how you shoot. 153 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
