Search Results:Helicopter Wild Hog Eradication in Texas
Summary:
I would love to find a place to hunt hogs near Fredricksburg, TX. with a bow or rifle, but no one will allow it without asking for hundreds of dollars. If it is such a bad problem, why does it cost money to solve it? If you have roaches the exterminator does not pay you to kill them....right? I know what you are thinking....You can not eat roaches, but the concept is the same. I am a responsible hunter that would love to help anyone get rid of some hogs if given the chance. I would even pay to process the meat and give it to the land owner, ANY TAKERS?? jspradley@ikon.com San Saba Whitetail Buck Hunt
Summary:
This young hunter is hunting whitetail deer in San Saba, Texas with his T/C 30-30 Ackley Improved rifle. He is hunting in a cedar blind 12 yards from a feeder. He has deer within 15 yards and takes this buck at about 25 yards. The buck scored 105 B&C and weighed in at just over 125 lbs which is huge for a Texas hill country deer. Great video and great deer! Woodchuck at 295 yards
Summary:
Thanks anyway, but I've got all the ribbons I need. As far as rifle/caliber suggestions go, I like the Remington 700, .22 centerfires. Especially the .223 and 22-250 both using 55 gr. bullets like the Hornady SP or Nosler Ballistic Tips. These calibers kick very little, yet hit hard, shoot flat, and usually produce one-shot, instant kills on animals weighing between 10-40 lbs. I usually try to avoid taking head shots which are always risky business at long range. I usually aim center mass and have always had favorable results doing so. There are my suggestions to you. Texas Hog Hunting on the Perdernales River
Summary:
Join Jason Parrish and the TexasHuntFish team as we visit a stunning ranch located on the Pedernales River, just outside of Johnson City. This ranch is currently under siege by feral pigs (aka wild hogs) and the landowner called us in to initate a hog eradication project. Hunting wild pigs one at a time, or trying to hunt them in general, is not a feasible way to remove wild hogs or persuade them to leave your property. The word "hunting" needs to be replaced with "killing." We did a sunset hunt on three locations, then corned the main road and shot three more hogs from the roof of our truck with two people on spotlights. Six pigs on our first night is a good start, but only the beginning. And yes that is a John's Gun Suppressor on Jason's .308 Remington 700P bolt action rifle.
