Remington 700 7mm mag

Summary:

Great combination...I use a 7mm Rem Mag for longer distance shooting and use a Remington Model 700 Sendero.  Most accurate rifle I've ever owned.

buying my first deer rifle

Summary:

i have a mossberg 100 atr in 270 with a nikon 3-9x50 scope it was my first rifle  and i love it  and have never had a prob with it and it shoots a 1inch group at 100 yards with hornady costom interlok 130 gr sp's.  some people have had probs with the gun but i dont no what the prob was but iv shot does in the head with it many times.  but i would go with remington 700 over a savage but thats just me.. if i were u i would go and look at guns in the cal u want and see witch one fits u better

want to no what other people think

Summary:

I think with any rifle you have to shoot different ammo and find which groups best. I had a .270 that loved the winchester power point ammo over any other bullets I tried.

Remington Model 700

Summary:

You are right about the safty issue on pre 82 guns. One of my rifles is like this. but it has never fired accidently, two times I can remember cleaning it and the firing pin did drop on closing the bolt with the safty off. I also have a 3.5 lb trigger. so i could have very easely did this my self. I wonder how many of these accidents were user fault. I have tried to make my rifle discharge ( no round in chamber). Even had the gunsmith try. he bounced my rifle on the butt plate with the safty on and off. But as always, people need to treat every gun like its loaded and ready to fire. I hate to see people jacking with their guns while people are walking down range.

WANTED LEVER ACTION .30-.30

I have a Winchester I'm looking to sell so I can get my wife a rifle. You can email me  chouse73 @gmail.com  my name is Carl

WTS Marlin 917V .17 HMR with Thumhole Stock.

Summary:

I have this same gun but in the varmit model and it is a tack driver.  As a used gun the price might be too high but if you find it new you can purchase it for around 300 and it is a nice addition to the gun cabinet ( I think I paid 305 for mine brand new ).  Makes an awesome plinker gun or varmit rifle..... fun little gun too shoot.
