KKW Game and Cattle Ranch

KKW Game and Cattle Ranch
Summary:

Welcome to KKW Game & Cattle, working Texas ranches that offer some of the finest whitetail and exotic game hunting in the state. We operate two ranches: one in the Hill Country north of San Antonio and the other in the South Texas Brush Country. If you have your heart set on a whitetail, then the South Texas Ranch is the place for you. If you’d rather hunt exotics, you’ll want to head to the Hill Country Ranch where axis deer, blackbuck, fallow deer,
sika deer, and aoudad sheep roam the hills.

Both ranches also offer opportunities to hunt wild boar, quail, dove, and wild turkey. The pristine habitats in either locale are also ideal for bass fishing, hiking, bird watching and photo safaris.

Superior accommodations, gourmet cuisine and unique amenities enhance the magnificent natural environment, providing the discriminating sportsman with the hunting experience of a lifetime.

KKW Game & Cattle offers a limited number of exclusive management and trophy hunts per year. All hunts are professionally guided and comply with all Texas Parks and Wildlife regulations and guidelines. We offer hunting from blinds over feeding areas, walk-to areas, safari-style driving in hunting rigs, and rattling at places where bucks are known to roam. Non-native hunting is conducted year round. Both ranches employ intensive game management programs to insure quality deer for the future. Both ranches also offer opportunities to hunt quail, dove, turkey and hogs.

Bunkhouse info...
Addy's Place was built during the summer of 2003 for our incoming dove hunters.  This tiled facility contains 3 bedrooms and 1 bath.  Each bedroom contains 2 adult bunks. Both noise reduction and temperature control were major considerations so each wall has been insulated.  Also, it has been outfitted with many of the conveniences of home...Central Heating and A/C, leather furniture, a pool table, satellite television and small wetbar area.

The second bunkhouse was added in 2004.  It is complete with tiled living area, bathroom, small refrigerator and laundry room.  This cabin sleeps 6 comfortably.  The third bunkhouse was added in 2008.  It, too, is tiled and sleeps six hunters.

Also in 2008, we added a clay shooting area and 3 full bathrooms.  Also, the mess hall received a "makeover" to serve groups as large as 28 hunters and/or guests.

Hidden Lakes Hunting Resort

Hidden Lakes Hunting Resort
Summary:

Wing hunting is the only hunting we do.  Years of hunting and visiting other resorts has allowed us to create the ultimate wing shooting resort.  To facilitate our hunting, we purchase birds but in addition we also have the facilities to hatch and raise about 14,000 birds.

There are six flight pens from 130’ to 160’ long.  The birds are kept secluded from sight of humans and protected from predators until they are released for hunting.  Birds are raised in seclusion so they react and fly as if they were wild.  This makes for an exciting hunt.

For prime pheasant hunting, we planted seventeen and a half miles of milo and sorghum in 30’ wide strips. There are two rows of milo and then two rows of sorghum repeated until we have a strip 30’ wide. The hunters walk through the waist high milo. The sorghum, which grows to about 7’ tall, causes the birds to get up faster and fly higher.  We left all the natural grasses and cover on Hidden Lakes. The scattered trees, briar patches and grown up fence rows are excellent cover and provide prime natural habitat for the quail and chuckers. To facilitate hunting we shred a 20’ path every 200’ in the open field in all pastures. We have six different hunting areas which provide hunters a diverse hunting experience and provides safety by keeping hunters well separated.

Double J Ranch

Double J Ranch
Summary:

Our Medina County ranch is in the transition zone between South Texas and the Hill Country.  Parts of the ranch look just like South Texas, although we do have a few large oaks and cedars and we are also blessed with rolling hills and deep brushy draws.

Our hunters have a choice of lodging in the guest rooms at our home or staying in our bunkhouse which offers a deer lease like atmosphere complete with AC, heater, BBQ pit and camp fire ring. On this type hunt you just bring your own food and drinks.

Our other ranch is located in Dimmit county in the heart of the famous Golden Triangle area of South Texas where many of the famous high scoring net book heads have come from in years past. It's the red sand country as some call it. We have a beautiful New Mexico Adobe style lodge there, built under a 60’ by 124’ hanger type structure. The rooms have everything you may need, including huge 4’x 4’ ceramic tile showers, private satellite television reception, fax machine, e-mail and private phone. This ranch regularly produces 150 to 180 class B & C whitetail and even a few over 190 to 200 gross B & C.

The atmosphere in this part of Texas is quite different. Sightings of wild hog, coyotes, bobcat, and bobwhite quail, and of course, BIG DEER make your hunt here a unique South Texas experience. This ranch is also high fenced and under an extensive yearly management program.

We hunt from deer blinds and each hunter is guided. During your stay our guides take very good care of you. We take care of everything from field dressing your deer to skinning, quartering and packing your meat in ice chests.
