Summary:
K-9 Ranch is currently available for weekend hunts during Spring Turkey Season, 2009. Ranch is game managed, feeders in operation continuously throughout the year. Game plots. Arrive Friday, hunt Saturday and Sunday. Ranch can host 2-3 hunters per weekend (shotgun only). Electrical (120V 20A) and water hookup for RV campers available. Limit 1 gobbler/gun. The K-9 Ranch, named for the 9 family owners, is located in the heart of the Hill Country. Multiple species of game and non-game animals thrive in the grasslands, live oak , mesquite, pecan and cedar trees that populate the rolling hills and senderos. The ranch is located within an area known for the highest density of white-tail deer per acre within the state of Texas. Game animals include deer, Rio Grande turkey, dove, quail, and squirrel. Predators taken from the land include coyote, bobcat and fox. Feral species of hog are common in the area and have been trapped and hunted on the ranch. Non-game species include many beautiful birds, and a migratory pattern that hosts endangered bird species. Year round game QDMA practices are used for improvement of game species, including continuous feeder operation, watering, and food plots. Cattle operations for Angus breeding are ongoing. In addition to a ranch house, there are accommodations for recreational vehicles including water and electrical utilities connections. We welcome a wide variety of visitors to the ranch, including hunting parties and bird watchers.
John P. Boerschig Ranches
Summary:
Located in Brackettville and Marfa, Texas, our ranches offer outstanding hunts for domestic big game and small game. The main Ranch consists of 10,000 acres and the other ranch which is only about 10 miles northwest consists of 8,400. There are five separate guest houses on the ranch that have accommodations in total for up to approximately 35 guests. There are eight tanks on the property that hold permanent rain water runoff and are supplemented by water well pumpage. There are also numerous live oak draws throughout the property which are used as roosting areas by resident turkeys. Several irrigated center pivot systems provide additional water which generates forbs, seeds and insects for turkeys and large quantities of deer. There are approximately 70 comfortable (two-man) deer blinds about 12-15 feet tall on the property. There are about 100 deer feeders that feed corn year round to attract wildlife. Wide open cleared areas through the brush, "senderos", allow our hunters to see plenty of game.
The ranch is a genuine working Texas cattle ranch so bring your camera as you may see our cowboys at work with the cattle. San Miguel Outdoors - Long Term Corporate Lease
