I've hunted that place and explored it my whole life!!! It's awesome. Unlimited predator hunting!! I personally have taken a Nilgai cow and two bucks!!! We rattled in a nice eight pointer to within fifteen yards!!! I took him and was thrilled!! Plenty of opportunity. If you live in the valley, you don't get any closer than this to home, and you don't get any closer to the best fishing either!!! Oh, I forgot to mention I've had plenty of duck, quail, and dove hunts as well!!! Common Gray Fox
Summary: I see these guys alot while I'm out hunting. I had a pair playing under the tree I was in and they never new I was there. I usually don't hunt predators, unless the frequency I see them increases dramatically, meaning that their population is rising too high and may threaten the numbers of game animals. In the foxes case that would mostly apply to quail, rabbits and turkeys. Anyway they're great looking animals, keen hunters, and always fun to watch.
Life Lessons, Bottled in a BB GunSummary:
Man that's crazy, but I can relate to that, some of my early sporting adventures took place with two pellet guns out in a 20 acre cattle pasture equiped with a nice little catfish tank that was overpopulated with turtles and water mocasins, but my favorite part was the nice dove population that roosted in the mature mesquite trees that lined the fence line and power lines. Those were some good times, the responsibility of walking around with one or two good buddies stalking rabbits, hogs, dove, quail, ducks, rats, whatever stop long enough in our sights to get our hunting blood flowing!!! Question about hunting in or near Midland TxSummary:
I am from Odessa and currently living in Denton, TX. Whitetail are hit or miss in Ector/Midland County. That being said, I will be hunting a 200 acre patch of Midland County this year that Monahan's draw crosses and pools up on. There are definitely some monsters around, and hunting pressure is less severe than you would find farther south. As said above, wing shooting is prime, especially blue quail and mourning dove. Also keep in mind that excellent waterfowl hunting is a little over an hour north of you around Lubbock. Good luck, and happy hunting. Does anyone know the B&C record for Midland, Co.? Hunting as an Employee Benefit
Summary:
Funny thing is Tigger that I kow that if I ever wanted to go back I feel that he respects me as a responsible hunter and would allow me to go back and hunt once again. The bucks are getting bigger and the game is multiplying at the Ranch in Free, plus he has added some axis deer and has reported seeing coveys of blue quail and chuckars from across the road, neighboring ranch has released a huntable population of chuckars for upland game bird hunters and Dr. Pinkley sees some migrate over his high game fence. 2518 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
