Vinegarroon Wildlife

Vinegarroon Wildlife
Summary:

The Vinegarroon Ranches cover 27,500 acres in Val Verde County, Texas. All of our ranches are low fence and all of our hunts are fair chase. Vinegarroon's hunts are geared to the outdoor sportsman that likes the challenge of hunting a mature whitetail buck in his natural range. Our ranches lie between the Devil's River and the Rio Grande River in the rolling hills and canyons. The terrain is covered in a variety of low thorny brush that provides high nutritional value for our whitetail population. You will be hunting country in which we have bucks we have yet to see and the deer have not been pressured by over hunting.

We maintain a year-round feed and mineral supplemental feeding program and census count to determine herd balance and density annually. Our southwest Texas ranches have a deer density of 1 deer to 12 acres and a buck to doe ratio of 1 buck to 2 doe. One buck to approximately 500 acres will be harvested and the necessary doe to keep our herd in balance. We ask our hunters to harvest a mature whitetail buck of at least 4 1/2 years of age. Hunters should see 10-15 bucks a day. Our average bucks will be 6.5 year old bucks in the 130-140 B&C gross class with our top deer each year in the 150-160's.

Domino Ranch Texas

Domino Ranch Texas
Summary:

The Domino Ranch is a family owned and operated working cattle ranch in northwest Medina County, Texas. Located approximately 70 miles southwest of San Antonio, the ranch lies at the junction between the Edwards plateau and the South Texas Plains.

This area is well known for its scenic beauty, breath-taking vistas, and abundant wildlife. The ranch consists of 2635 acres under high fence which is home to whitetail deer, hogs, javelina, turkey, dove, quail, bobcats, and a variety of Texas native birds.Over the past few years, the ranch has focused on the development of a trophy whitetail herd.

The topography of the ranch is characterized by dramatic elevation changes with steep ridges and deep canyons. Oak and cedar thickets dominate the hillsides while fertile valleys allow for cultivated food plots. Black Jack Lake provides a central water source for various wildlife.

The Domino Ranch has an ongoing participation with the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department Managed Lands for Deer Program. Our strict game management plan, habitat improvement program, and supplemental feeding have allowed the development of a truly outstanding whitetail deer herd. This year the ranch was recognized by the Texas Big Game awards for Region 4.

Although our hunts are not guaranteed, we have enjoyed a very high success rate over the past three seasons. Hunts are conducted from comfortable ground blinds accompanied by one of our knowledgeable guide staff. No more than three buck hunters will be participating in a hunt at any given time. This allows us to focus our attention to the important details of your personal hunt.

Our comfortable lodge includes four spacious bedrooms, bath, full service kitchen and dining room, den, and outdoor rock firepit and barbeque area.

Trans-Pecos Hunting Club

Summary:

First and foremost: We are a Hunt Club. We are not a guide service, and we share costs such as lease, protein feed, camp improvements, deer blinds, brush trimming etc.

We love the land the Lord created "West of the Pecos River." We love to hunt trophy mule deer, white tail, turkey, javelina, and bobcats.

We also practice management for future generations.

Each year, rifle season lasts for approximately two months. With this in mind, we suggest that you plan and book all hunting trips in advance. When hunting, each hunter receives about 1,000 acres (per hunter/leasee) for a full-range of exciting activities. During hunting, spouses and dependents (e.g. children) are allowed to be at the hunter's side, although rules and regulations must be followed. Hunting activities are also available for either individuals or groups, based on hunting needs.

  • Follow all rules and guidelines set for by Texas Parks and Wildlife
  • Follow all State and Federal Laws
  • Respect our Fellowman ( rancher, game warden, law enforcement, hunter) WhiteTail- Season Only (approx November 1- January 1)

Mule Deer- 16 Day Season (approx November 25- Mid December).
