Deep Creek Hunting Ranch consists of 6,000 acres of prime wheat fields and rolling mesquite pastures. Spread out among the various properties are 31 stock tanks with bass, perch and catfish.

ANNUAL LEASES are available each year for parts of the ranch. If annual leases are full for this year, day hunting and lodging is still open.

The majority of our hunting acreage is in an area near the Brazos River. The countryside consists of rolling hills with large, thick mesquites, prickley pear and scattered fields of cultivation; creating the perfect habitat for elusive trophy white tail deer, Rio Grande turkey, Bob White quail and wild hog. Many ducks migrate into our area stock tanks (ponds) each winter. Bring a camera, fishing rod, bow or gun and enjoy the peaceful relaxing beauty of the countryside and nature.

Excellent quail habitat. grassland, ragweed, brush, mesquite trees, unplowed wheat fields and very little cactus. Archer County has had just the right amount of rain for good egg hatchings, and the bugs and grass hoppers are in pleanty numbers so the birds have lots to eat.

There are many drainage areas and creeks on the ranch and many stock tanks.  Great combination of cover and open areas. This area is known for some of the best quail hunting around North Texas.

There is a main camp site that has RV hookups if you want to bring your own trailer. A big awning houses all the comforts a hunter would need: 2 refrigerators, sink washing bin, gas cooking surfaces, BBQ grill, table, TV, microwave and a giant wood burning stove.

Cabin with electricity and water.  You are allowed guests adn ATV's.

Green Hills Farm Day Hunts is located in Dodd City, Texas (just one hour north-east of the Metroplex).  We are open starting October 1 and hunt through March 31. The rolling terraces of Johnson grass are excellent habitat for Quail, Chukar, and Pheasant.

Our Quail, Chukar, and Pheasant are powerful fliers which makes for a great hunt and also good training ground for young dogs. Stocked birds, strong fliers, challenging targets, all you need for a successful hunt. We have no minimums but only allow up to 4 hunters per hunt. Exceptions can be made for larger groups.   

Mesquite Country Outfitters offers fully guided hunts for wild Bobwhite quail, whitetail and mule deer, turkey, dove, wild hogs and varmints on the 165,000 acre Pitchfork Ranch in Dickens and King counties.  This working cattle ranch's terrain include mesquite pastures, scrub oak thickets, rugged canyon and cedar country.  There are also a few crop fields and food plots.  Lodging and meals are provided on location for most hunts. The ranch holds good numbers of mature whitetail bucks and a few mule deer.  The quail, turkey, and dove populations in this area are outstanding. Wild hogs and varmints are abundant on the 257 square miles of hunting territory.  All game animals are 100% wild.  No high fences or pen-raised critters here!!

The Pitchfork Ranch and Mesquite Country Outfitters are in the process of implementing a game management program on the property.  This program includes year round supplemental feeding as well as habitat improvement.  The 1998-99 season is the first season that hunting has been formally offered over the entire ranch.  The wildlife has had virtually no hunting pressure for many years. All hunts are fair chase and absolutely no high fencing is used.  We strictly monitor our wildlife population.
