Public Land in Winters

Summary: Where is lake Winters? What county or what city is it near to.

public dove hunting

Summary:

I have hunted granger several times for dove and I always seem to pickup a few for the table. I know some areas that are usually covered with sunflowers and can be great with a good decoys setup. This all hinges on what is planted in the fields. Also, there is a place near the Willis Creek park that has a highline or electrical line running thru the middle, its on the left as you drive up to the park. I have seen the dove bunch up on the line during the day. The key is to have enough people around to keep the dove moving.

Don,

Have you looked into the addition of screw-in chokes?

Dove Lease around Houston?

It's a comin

Summary:

Hey Chris, how's it going? Check into the Texas Parks and Wildlife Public Hunting Permit that will give you access to tons of land to hunt dove, duck and some areas have quail. You also get access to deer, hog and small game hunting with the permit. The permit cost $48 and its a one time fee for the entire year. It is worth every penny. You can check it out at this link.   http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/huntwild/hunt/public/

Maybe we can get together and do some hunting this year.
