Summary:
Guy's, I highly recommend the Brute Box coolers. I bought a Cub 55, and absolutely love it! It's tough as nails. And, it's held ice for me for a solid 5 days so far, which is the longest I've tested it. They are very well made. And, ordering from the Brute Outdoors web site was easy, and the shipping was very fast. I had my cooler in about 3 days. My boys with some fish we caught on a fishing trip using the Brute Box Cub 55.
Harris County Wildlife Group 4TH Annual Hunting Heritage & Conservation BanquetSummary:
All this and more will be available at our August 13th banquet. For all of you who who not only love to hunt turkey, but deer and quail as well, the NWTF hold these banquets to help raise funds to improve habitat that benefits all wildlife. Over the next few years the NWTF along with TPWD will be re-stocking eastern wild turkey's in several counties and the proceeds raised will help fund such projects. You'll have a great time at the banquet and help to raise funds for a worthy cause. To buy tickets or tables click on the partner page of our site at http://www.nwtfharriscountywildlifegroup.com/partners.htm or contact me to make arrangements. Also if anyone would like to support by donating some sort of hunt or merchandise valued at $350 or more, we will give you a table for 8 and advertisment or your bunsiness at the banquet. Also, for those locally who would like to get involved with our chapter we're always in need of some new people and would love to have ya. We are big on outreach and getting others into the outdoors...especially children, women, and wounded worriors. Our chapter tries to plan several initiatives and hunts a year with partnering ranches and outfitters who support what we do. These include 2 youth hunts, and two committee hunts for the committee members from numerous NWTF chapters and those who are new to hunting. This deer season we hope to hold our first womens hunt. For anyone wanting to support what we do and help us put on some of these hunts in the future for youth, novice and committee members please message me. Just a thought!Summary:
Thank GOD there are a few of us still out there. There are not many shows that show what to do after the shot. I dont watch much of the hunting shows now days. All they are advertisments! It would take a dump truck to hawl all the crap to you stand if you buy into that stuff. Let me tell you the best cover sent in the world? First wash your hunting clothes with a detergant that is says free and clear and it is cheap. Next go break off a pine limb and crush the neddles and rub on you. Its free and GOD made the best cover sent in the world. I have tons of ideas that could save alot of money in the hunting world. But back to the point. Hunting has become all about size not the value of the hunt. I love nature and hunting I just hate to see it shown in the manner that it is now days. We need to organize a group that hunts for the love of the outdoors and the hunt. Not about how big the deer is but the value of the hunt and the family and friends that join in the fun. Anybody with me? Coyote Goat-Roping in My Back Yard
Summary:
I hear you Jon...but the animal is not behaving correctly, and I mean more than losing its fear of man. That's a little overly simplistic assessment based on a few pictures. I've been around a boatload of coyotes over the years, in fact we've had them out here ever since we moved out this way. That is to say that the presence of coyotes is not a recent phenomenon, but out here and in my experience this one's behavior certainly is far from the norm. And, like I said in the post, I think the animal is ill. And, if the animal is ill I'm not going to go out there. Frankly as a hunter my goal is not to eliminate animals because i don't want them around, but to put food on the table and enjoy the outdoors. So, I'm not real sure where you were heading with your comments. And, my comments concerning the TPWD are only partly over this incident. The TPWD is supposed to manage wildlife, and if an animal is sick, and in an urban population, if the local government can't/won't handle the situation they would be the next logical step. But, over time (and I've lived in Texas over 30 years) the TPWD is starting to lose sight of its mission. If you don't believe me read their magazine (we did for several years) and see how many of the authors, their stated interests, and their subject matter, rub against TPWD stated goals.
