Long known as a premier annual event for big-game hunters at home and abroad, the Dallas Safari Club (DSC) convention and expo will expand in 2012 to include attractions focused on quail and other upland birds.

Five conservationists-three from the Dallas area, one from the Houston area and one from Santa Fe, N.M.-have accepted volunteer positions on the board of directors for the Dallas Safari Club (DSC).

The first major hunting show of the year, the Dallas Safari Club (DSC) annual convention and expo is slated to kickoff 2011 at the Dallas Convention Center, Jan. 6-9. The public is welcome to attend.

Since 2006, Dallas Safari Club (DSC) has granted more than $750,000 in funding for wildlife and habitat conservation, youth and public education, and hunter advocacy programs within the state of Texas.

The Sportsmen’s Foundation, a national non-profit organization based in Dallas, will Celebrate National Hunting and Fishing Day 2010 with a party featuring a wild game dinner and Vegas style casino on Saturday, September 25, at the Richardson Civic Center.

A special pat on the back goes to the Junior Team, which-with sponsorship from DSC-took on the best shooters in the world and returned home with seven individual medals and seven team medals.

Dallas Safari Club (DSC) has renewed a $10,000 life insurance policy for every game warden in Texas. The club has covered 100 percent of the premiums for five years.
