Texas Trophy Hunters Association™ (TTHA) is proud to announce the 2012 season of TROPHY HUNTERS TV® with a new schedule on Outdoor Channel.

Through its Collegiate Shooting Sports Initiative (CSSI), the National Shooting Sports Foundation has awarded $299,200 in grants to 41 colleges and universities to assist in the development and expansion of shooting sports programs. Of those schools receiving assistance, 11 are in the process of developing new shooting clubs.

This week's episode of TROPHY HUNTERS TV®, "Colorado Elk and Texas Exotics" features a seasoned bow hunter goes all out to take a Rocky Mountain Elk bull and two businessmen from Pennsylvania escape to Texas for a crossbow hunt, only to find the heat was more than they bargained for.

Members of Team Hornady® competed at the Inaugural Fallen Brethren 3-Gun Challenge, held at the Spartan Tactical Range Complex in Jackson, Texas, December 2-4, 2011. Despite the onset of rain, fog and cold temperatures, Hornady® bullets delivered winning results.

The Association of Collegiate Anglers has selected Allen, TX as the host city for the 2012 Cabela's Collegiate Big Bass Bash. Hundreds of students from across the country will migrate to the city of Allen, and nearby Lake Lavon, March 19-24, 2012 for what should be a fun-filled start to the 2012 BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship Series.

Succulent forbs withered on the drought-stricken Texas landscape this year, prompting predictions that the health of deer would plummet.  But deer brought to wild game processors have largely been healthy, some carrying good stores of body fat.

Carol O'Day, co-owner with husband Kerry of custom firearms house MG Arms, has been named the Houston Safari Club's "Outstanding Huntress of the Year." This is an annual award but honors a lifetime of hunting achievement.

This week on "Legends of the Fall", the whitetail action heats up in Texas as Georgia Kate and McKenna McFerrin prove that a young lady's place is no doubt in the whitetail woods.

After being closed for more than three months due to a massive wildfire that burned much of the park, Bastrop State Park will reopen today (Friday, Dec. 2). Campers, picnickers and hikers are being welcomed back to the park in what is being called a "soft opening."
