The Deer that became the TexasHuntFish.com Logo

The Deer that became the TexasHuntFish.com Logo
Summary: With a B&C dry score of 214+, it was a photo of this deer two years ago that inspired our new logo in 1996. When I met Justin Peeler, President of Macho Creek Lodge, something about his brochure kept distracting me. When he pointed to a photo of the hunter with his trophy, I recognized the background fence and windmill, and it hit me that this WAS THE DEER. I can't tell you how many hours we spent looking for a beautiful free range Texas Whitetail Trophy Buck to model for our logo. I know many people like the monster buck logos, all I am saying is we wanted our logo to represent something that any Texan "might once-in-a-lifetime see". Anyway, what a small world.

Flying low over my head

Flying low over my head
Summary: I was amazed at how low the plane flew over us, how loud it was, and it made me think of what it must feel like to be an enemy of the USA and have this monster fly overhead. That is a can of whoop-ass you don't want to open.
