TPWD Commission Passes ‘Party Boat' License Rules for Inland Waters

Summary: The Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission Thursday approved the publication of proposed regulations that would require party boat operators to be licensed and their boats inspected and insured.

Language included in House Bill 12, enacted by the 80th Texas Legislature, requires the commission to regulate party boats on inland lakes and waterways.

It focuses mainly on “nongame” wildlife, animals that are not hunted or fished, including some that are not yet rare but could become so if proactive steps are not taken soon.
