Summary: Downloaded the pic from the gamecam today and looks like the big boy has made it thru the year so far. Just three weeks to try and get him. Also got a couple picks of two smaller guys and a grey fox. Had 405 pics on the cam.

Summary: Anywhere I can get permission. I will be in the Davy Crockett National Forest this weekend and next. We do some hunting on the ranch near College Station. One 4 day hunt in West Texas in December near Eldorado. Then the bow lease in Leander.

Summary: Well I guess the luck has jumped into my brothers back pocket. Tony was hunting our lease in Leander this morning and shot this nice 8 pt. He was just about to get down out of the stand around 9:30 when the buck stepped out. He made a good shot that took the buck done in just 40 yards.

National Forest Doe Permits

Summary: Thats awesome Chris...my daughter and I also got drawn for doe permits but ours are for the DCNF. We are pumped. I'm gonna try to take her to the lease this weekend for a crossbow hunt on youth opener. Then I will be in the DCNF on rifle opener and then the following weekend I will be back at the DCNF with my daughter to try to fill the doe tags. My hunting buddy will have his 3 boys out there on the second weekend, so we are going to have a big youth camp/hunt weekend. Will have plenty of pics when I return.

Food plots

Summary: I planted Biologic Green Patch the last two years and it seems to do well if the deer give it a chance, which is seldome. I have read countless articles and if you plant a large plot that Oats can hardly be beat in the southern part of the U.S. I have been planting several small plots so it isn't too costly to use the Green Patch. I like to add in some oats later in the year to give it a little boost. Also, don't forget the fertilize the food plot it does make a big difference. I use an inexpensive 13-13-13 on my plots because it is good for all plants. This year i fertalized one week and planted the next. I havent been back to the lease sense the rain started but I bet the plots are coming up.

Summary: Nice chair. Wish I had one of those back when I had the lease in Del Rio. I was thinking if you bring the ladder down to the bumper and bolt it there it would really sturdy that thing up for you.
