Summary:
oh i was using 1/16 oz blue/white jigs 1 to 2 foot under a slip bobber in the creek at Scotts Ridge. there would be folks there all day with minnows and only have a few, then id show up after work with my jigs and just ware them out on nearly every cast. for every one i caught id miss 4 or 5 atleast. those people would ask what i was using and id show them but when i saw them again they were still using minnows and get mad when i start pulling them in. had one guy in a boat cuss me out cause hed been there for 2 hrs and not a strike. i showed up and started jiggin around his boat and caught 6 within 5 min. he started cussin me and roared his boat out of there and then i caught 4 more laughing at him. but anyway, when it gets dark they go to hiting minnows. hope this helps??? lake livingston damSummary:
i was there on wed and thurs. wed. people caught fish from the bank. i did not see any fish caught from the bank on thurs. you had to work either a jig or i used cotton cordells for the sandbass. tiny jigs for the crappie. there is an old boat ramp not to far from the dam that is out of the water and not in use. from it back to the parking area is where the bank fishermen caught them. New Bowhunter, Fletching?Summary:
Please excuse me for saying so, Jason but I disagree with you about buying your own fletcher depending on how committed one is about remaining a bowhunter. As for me, I have three fletching jigs. My first one is 28 years old. My home made one is much older than that. If I were to total all the arrows that I have fletched at the rate of only one dozen per year and multiply that by $2.00 each times 43 years, that would be $932.00. In reality more than one dozen arrows per year is normal for me. LOL Good Hunting yall catfishing below lake Livingston DamSummary:
The fishing can be great. You will need to cast 100 yards and this is done best from a platform. Yes you can launch your own boat. With the right wind a kite could be an option. There are some monsters right in the faster water against the rocks. A cork and a chicken gizzard will work or a good piece of cut bait. You will catch stripers too. The last time I was there the people and guides who use the area were not very sportsman like. They will crowd you and cast over you. It's what you make of it. We use to fish right against the rocks until some drunk drowned and they added the restriction cable that you are not allowed to cross. Even when you are standing on dry land. We would catch a lot of large crappie too on jigs fished slowly in the eddies. 725 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
