Giant Lake Amistad will be a fitting playing field for the April 8-10 season opener of the 2010 Bassmaster Central Open tour.  Signed up to compete on the sprawling impoundment that straddles the Texas-Mexico border are 204 pros and 204 co-anglers.

For the third consecutive year, the Academy Sports & Outdoors Bassmaster Women's Tour will award a coveted Bassmaster Classic berth to the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Women's Tour Angler of the Year. The 2010 WBT schedule will span five events, four regular-season tournaments and a championship, and will visit fisheries in Alabama, Texas and Louisiana.

Texas' Stephen Johnston had to abandon his preferred pattern during the second day of the Bassmaster Central Open on Sam Rayburn Reservoir after thick clouds moved in, but he was excited when he awoke for the last day of competition to see the cloud cover breaking.

The second of three Bassmaster Central Open tournaments this season, the September 3-5 Open event on Sam Rayburn Reservoir out of Jasper, Texas, will be decisive for quite a few anglers.

Now holding down fourth place in the Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year standings, Bassmaster Elite Series pro Gary Klein of Weatherford, Texas, has a chance for a third title as top stick.

Under almost perfect weather conditions, the 2009 BoatU.S. Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship contestants launched from Sneaky Pete's Marina at Lake Lewisville. With anglers registered from over 70 schools, the anticipation and excitement level was high.

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) has announced that sporting goods retailer Dick's Sporting Goods is partnering with the 2009 event. Dick's Sporting Goods is the exclusive TTBC merchandise retailer, official TTBC apparel provider and official TTBC sporting goods provider. The TTBC will be held October 16 - 18 at Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas.

The Toyota Texas Bass Classic (TTBC) and Evan Williams Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey, the country's second largest selling Bourbon brand, have announced a two-year partnership that positions Evan Williams as the official bourbon of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. As part of this partnership, Evan Williams' branded concessions area will be one of the highlights of the expo area. The TTBC will be held October 16 - 18 at Lake Conroe in Montgomery, Texas.

As the weekend progressed, the temperatures on Lake Amistad warmed up and so did Jason Williamson. The third-year BASS pro from Aiken, South Carolina, shoved aside consistency and posted a backbreaking total of more than 68 pounds through the final two days, which was enough to advance from 38th position to third heading into Day 3, then secure his first BASS victory and the accompanying $100,000 top prize Sunday at the 2009 Bassmaster Elite Series season opener, the OPTIMA Batteries Battle on the Border.
