I drive a TrailHog, www.Trailhog.com I have also used other carts made from EZGO frames as well as both normal and extended versions of the Bad Boy Buggy. There is a detailed product review on this site about Bad Boy Buggies. I will try to post a photo of the machine I am using now. It has been great for everything that a hunter needs on 1000 acres or less. How many acres per hunter do you recommend?Summary:
I think you really want to consider: what region of Texas (differences is habitat, water, etc.) is there supplemental feed or food plots? are you just looking to shoot a deer and have fun or do you really care about mature trophy deer hunting? and finally, from a safety perspective, think about rifle hunters and their proximity to each other and whether or not you mandate staying in the blind because of how close hunters might be to each other. With all that said I think you end up with ONE high quality buck per 500 acres in South Texas and West Texas; and maybe ONE per 300 acres in East Texas. The Hill Country seems different because there are so many deer and so many small properties and if you have water, the deer congregate from all surrounding areas. In general the deer are the poorest quality, but I have seen places with NO quality deer and I have seen times (like right now around good water and protein feeders) when I have seen four great quality hill country bucks at the same time on a 82 acre free range parcel. We are down here at the San Antonio National Shooting Center watching all the kids compete in the 4H State Championship. Just finally getting to an internet connection with my computer and camera side by side.... To finish "my version" of the story... Justin Blalock took the shot and missed. The hog jumped and ran into the brush. We talked about how he missed. I was surprised he missed because he did everything right that I could tell. Maybe because the gun has a 1.5 lb jewel trigger, and his finger probably weighs that much? Maybe because this was the first time he ever aimed a gun at a living being and he "felt" that "feeling" in his core being? Regardless, I was happy to have set the hook in another young hunter because he started begging for the hog to come out, for another hog to appear. The deer came back out within 15 minutes. They kept an eye on the brush where the hog ran so we sat watching for the boar to step back out into the clear. Some deer walked up on us from behind and snorted and he jumped out of his skin - caught me a little by surprise because they were only about 30 yards away when they snorted. Bats came out with the sunset - this was a first for him to see. Frogs started to make their sound - this was a first for him to hear. The sun set and we called an end to another day of hog hunting. This is a photo of where the hog walked down to the water to wallow. "Almost Live Report" Texas Trophy Hunters Association (TTHA) Houston Show

MG Arms: The Ultimate Light Weight Rifle. Kerry O’Day is the Owner who trained with the renowned Master Gunsmiths P.O. Ackley and Ron Freshour. I think when you walk up to someone at a “Trade Show” and are not “acting” like you are going to buy their product that people immediately think you are trying to get them to buy your product. It is interesting to me and I think my grandfather was right, “Free has no value.” Our site is free to Texas Hunters, Fishermen, Guides, Outfitters, Land Owners, and supporting service providers because other people are willing to pay to advertise to you. Our main concern is trying to make sure that the advertisements you see are about products and services you are interested in learning more about and maybe buying. Even though I was graciously provided with a “Press” badge by TTHA, I think people in this day and age are really skeptical about why you would talk to them if you are not trying to either buy or sell something. For the record, I had a very interesting conversation with Mr. O’Day. He is obviously a very talented man and his guns are not only beautiful, they are lighter than the computer I carry in the field. They are literally so light that it is hard to explain other than to hold one and dream. We discussed a number of caliber, ballistic, accuracy, and number of shots per unit accuracy (I am sure there is some gunsmith term for that) issues that I have been thinking about and it was evident that he knew the answers to a level of detail that I am willing to believe he has actually shot every combination of caliber and load we discussed. We also talked about the cost of whitetail hunting in Texas becoming to expensive for the average hunter and I shuddered at the proposition that hunting whitetail outside of Texas was cheaper for a Texan than hunting whitetail in Texas. I am excited that Mr. O’Day told me he knew the Guide I am going to bear hunt with in Alaska and actually told me that not only have they hunted together but that the daughter of the guide was actually featured on a magazine holding his rifle during a trophy hunt. Although the hunt is four years away, I am goofy excited!!!!! Mr. O’Day mentioned that he has written for several magazines and I asked if he would consider republishing a product review of his guns on our site. I hope he reads this and responds. If you contact MG Arms, let them know you came from texashuntfish.com. 83 results found Next Page >Showing results 1 through 10
