South Texas Deer HuntingSummary:
The rut is about end of December/beginning of January. It's a whole other ball game down there. I would say the gun still matters just where you place it so you don't need to go get a 308 to shoot something. There is a also seriously thick brush everywhere. It's not pruned oaks all over the place. I'll never forget the first time I was down there and we corned the road and the deer, hogs and javelinas all came out so fast you could see them in your rear view mirror. You're going to have fun!
