Hunters and landowners participating in the Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) this hunting season will not only see some new rules and changes for this year’s program, they will also welcome the debut of a  “Landowner of the Year” (LOTY) Awards program.

Hunters and landowners participating in the Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) this upcoming hunting season will not only see some new rules and changes for this year’s program, they will also welcome the debut of a  “Landowner of the Year” (LOTY) Awards program.

Gov. Rick Perry has named TWA Life Member Dan Friedkin of Houston chair of the Texas Parks and Wildlife Commission, and appointed Bill Jones of Austin to the commission effective Sept. 1, 2011. The commission oversees the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Applications are now available for the 11th Annual $20,000 Texas Big Game Awards (TBGA) Wildlife Conservation College Scholarship Program, sponsored by Carter’s Country Outdoor Stores and the Wildlife Heritage Foundation of Texas.

TWA is unquestionably the most effective conservation organization in Texas.  Texas Wildlife is published monthly by Texas Wildlife Association and reaches approximately 25,000 readers. Paid subscribers and those with whom they associate are among the most influential people in the state.
