Summary:

Daniel, I don't really think that Trace mean't any disrespect. I for one can understand very well the quote "as much as this hunter could afford". That within it's self is one of the reasons this hunter will never try that kind of hunt. I for one do not consider it "HUNTING" when I set in a blind with a "guide" and have to wait for him to tell me how much this deer will cost me, so I can deside if I want to let the house and pickup payments slide to take this or that deer. Seems to me this would be like dealing with a SHIFTY USED CAR SALESMAN. Just not my cup of tea, sorry man. However as I have said before-------to each his own.

Question??

Summary:

http://www.qdma.com/what-we-do/articles/data-collection/aging-by-tooth-replacement/

This is an article from the Quality Deer Mgmt Assoc on a problem with the standard tooth aging method.

I can remember being told by a biologist in the past that you should assume the jaw aging method is good to +/- 1 year.  That is, if the jaw aging says it is 4.5 years old, then there is a very good chance that it is between 3.5 and 5.5 years old.  Food does make a big difference.  If a deer is eating a lot of pellets, I was told is can affect the tooth wear, but for the life of me I can't remember if pellets supposedly made it look older or younger.  I'd assume younger than the actual age.  If you can create a aging guide based on your local area, rather than the general one that may not have even been from Texas deer, you should be more accurate.

I read in Insurance Times recently that the financial Ombudsman had decreed that it would, in certain circumstances, back a policyholder against an insurer excluding claims for leaving keys in or near a car.Motorhome or Trailer that is the question for you. Here are some of the advantages and disadvantages of both, so you will be confident when purchasing an RV.

Public Land: Do you mark your trails? Yes.. No.. ???

Summary:

I agree with Arobie120 and don't mark trails into my hunting areas. I will use a GPS to get in though. If you hunt public land, marked or not it is first come first serve on the hunting spots. Marking them wouldn't matter to some anyway....you were just a guide in their eyes. I have a friend who does mark with tacks and he always puts out "dummy" trails to confuse anyone that might be trying to "borrow" his spots.

If I found a spot that was odviously marked and I wanted to hunt that area, I wouldn't hunt right there, but I might hunt close by. I don't like getting walked on while i'm in the woods and I take my boat in to my spots most of the time. That usually keeps the "walkers" out of the areas I hunt. And I have been guilty of pulling surveyer ribbon down myself!! LOL!!
