Duckwhackers Wild Turkey
Summary: I made this wild turkey recipe tonight, and it was a big hit and a crowd pleaser. We had wild turkey, wild rice, scalloped potatoes and grilled asparagus. I served it with a white muscadine (wild grape native to the southeast) wine. Ingredients 1 wild turkey breast half Bacon Orange Juice ...

English Springer Spaniel Pup Help?

Summary:

Ed,

Try Southhaven Kennels in Houston (I believe around the sugarland area). They have really good lines of field bred Springers and Cockers. I can't remember the breeder/trainers name right now, but he trained my Springer, Shirley, about 10 years ago, and she is without question one of the best hunting dogs I have ever owned.

Good Luck, they are great dogs. Shirley is hell on blue quail and pheasants! She retrieves dove, but once she gets hot she slows down on them due to the feathers.

You might also think about a Boykin. About the same size, all liver color, and really good on all types of game. I have a friend that hunts one, and she is really good on the dove.

Game Camera Question

Summary: Three part question: If you were going to by a game camera which would you buy in each category?: a. Expensive $200+? b. Middle of the road 150-200? C. Inexpensive 100-150? Thanks in advance for the input.

Roasted Fish

Summary: This recipe is more about a cooking method than actual flavor, as you can season the fish any way you like, but it is an excellent way to prepare fish and serve with the sauce I posted earlier. This works really well for striper, bass and other large more oily fish. Take your fish and and clean (...

Sauce For Fish/Shellfish

Summary: This is a great sauce for fish and shrimp. You can marinate and baste with it, and then use it as a dipping sauce. 1/2 cup fish sauce (you can find it in the asian section of most supermarkets) 1 tablespoon low sodium soy sauce 1 tablespoon sugar Juice of 1 fresh lime 1 clove segment fresh gar...

The Best Pheasant Recipe Ever...Period. End of Conversation.

Summary: This is the best recipe for pheasant I have ever tasted, and once you try it you will never want pheasant prepared any other way. Ingredients 3 or 4 Pheasants, skinned and whole Large container of Sour Cream (the really big one) Celery, 1 Onions, Carrots Large bag Egg Noodles 1/2 cup whit...

Group South Dakota Pheasant Hunt

Summary: I am thinking of getting up a group and going to South Dakota the first week of December to hunt pheasant and sharptail grouse. I am looking at the Winner, SD area as I am very familiar with this part of the state. It takes about 14 hours driving from North Dallas. An out of state temporary small ...

July Most Points WINNER!

Summary:

That is why I put the smiley face after the comment about reverse discrimination. All in fun. Conchoman did get robbed according to the rules of the game as they have existed as long as I have been a member of this online community, and I do stand behind that, but again, I pointed it out all in fun to give the THF folks a hard time.

Your post lashing out at us or me, however, was not in fun and less than sportsmanlike. I stand behind that also. This is my last word on the subject.

Vacuum Sealer

Summary: I got a vacuum sealer earlier in the year, and I used it to shrink wrap some wild turkey breasts. I opened one up and cooked it yesterday, and the quality of the meat was as good as the day I wrapped it. I highly recommend the product to anyone that stores meat in the freezer. Vacuum sealing extend...
