Surely Davy Crockett, Sam Houston and Jim Bowie are rolling over in their graves.  It is hard to believe that these patriots in the fight for a free and independent Texas would ever have foreseen that a legislature full of supposed conservatives would vote to permit warrantless searches of the homes of those folks who might sell a few puppies at the end of their driveway.

National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Toledo Bend March 19 for the third of four stops in the Texas Division. Forty college teams will be competing for a top award of $10,000 to be split between the school and bass fishing club; $7,500 for bass club and $2,500 for their school.

The EverStart Series is headed to Choke Canyon January 20-22 for the first of four stops in the Texas Division. As many as 300 pros and co-anglers will be competing for top awards up to $35,000 plus a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard for the pro and a Ranger boat with an Evinrude or Mercury outboard plus $5,000 for the co-angler.

The 2011 season is upon us.  This weekend Bass Champs will begin it's 13th tournament season on Lake Amistad, in Del Rio, TX. 

National Guard FLW College Fishing is headed to Sam Rayburn Reservoir October 28-30 for the Texas Regional Championship. Twenty pre-qualified collegiate teams will be competing for a top award of $50,000 to be split evenly between the school and bass fishing club.

The 2010 Toyota Texas Bass Classic will feature the big stars and big fish that fans have become accustomed to during the annual event, while offering a variety of fan activities for the whole family.

Nine of the top bass anglers in the country will sign autographs for fans at three Houston-area Academy Sports + Outdoors Stores, Tuesday, September 28, as part of the Toyota Texas Bass Classic. Fishing legend Kevin VanDam will appear at the Conroe store. Greg Hackney, Mark Davis, Scott Suggs and Ron Shuffield will appear at the Humble store. Mike McClelland, John Crews, Bryan Thrift and Gary Klein will appear at the Tomball location. All appearances will take place on Sept. 28 from 7 - 9 p.m.
