Accomplished author and futurist Richard Louv, author of "Last Child in the Woods," will outline the growing body of research indicating the direct exposure to nature is essential for the health of children and adults during his special presentation at the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) Luncheon on Friday, June 26, in San Antonio.

Mr. Joe Coleman of Houston and Mr. A.V. Jones, Jr., of Albany have been named winners of the TWAF Alfred C. Glassell, Jr. Lifetime Achievement Award in Quail Management for their outstanding leadership in quail conservation and stewardship.

A first-ever Texas Wildlife Association Foundation Quail Conservation Award and Fundraising Gala will recognize the achievements of individuals, ranches, and leases that promote quail habitat and restoration management in Texas at a special banquet at the Omni Hotel in Houston on April 16. The event includes a reception, dinner and auction.

The Texas Wildlife Association Foundation (TWAF) and the San Antonio Livestock Exposition, Inc. (SALE) have joined forces to offer four $10,000 Natural Resource-Excellence in Education Scholarships in the fall of 2008.
