Action Angler

Action Angler
Summary:

Meet Chris Jackson, Lead Guide:
Fishing experience from the Pacific to the Atlantic, as well as Belize.  I'm a full time fishing guide and owner of Action Angler & Outdoor Center on the Guadalupe River. My fly shop opened in May of 2002. I have over 30 years of fly fishing experience, which started on stock ponds in north east Texas. I caught my first trout on the fly in Colorado at age 12 while hiking the headwaters of the Rio Grande. I continue to fish Colorado at least once a year, and have fishing experience in numerous waters stretching from California to Maine and all the way down to Key West. My only experience out of the country is Belize. I'm always looking to share my experience with other anglers looking to fish the hill country, and learn from other anglers as well. (TXPW licensed fishing guide, and Colorado float guide certified)

Action Angler & Outdoor Center is the only stream side fly shop and guide service in Texas.  Action Angler has been in business since 2001, and we pride ourselves on providing customers with the best-quality products and personal service.  We offer an intro to fly fishing course, casting lessons, float trips (fishing or nature tour) on various Texas rivers, and a fly fishing guide school. (please inquire by email or phone about trips or lessons not listed on our online booking system) Weekday and Sunday afternoon Trips on the Guadalupe from December to April are ideal.

Cast Away Guide Service

Cast Away Guide Service
Summary:

My name is Jc Gwynne or “The Amistad Man” as some of you have come to know me on the Texas Fishing Forum.  I have had the pleasure and great fortune to be raised on Lake Amistad which I have fished for the past 25 years. I have seen Lake Amistad at it's highest and lowest levels and I am prepared to show you Lake Amistad like you have never seen her before.

I have gained a wealth of knowledge over the years from not only fishing Lake Amistad but fishing tournament trails all over Texas to bring you an awesome learning experience on what the fishing industry has labled the best BIG BASS lake in the state. LAKE AMISTAD!

Here at Cast Away Guide Service our goal is to provide anglers of all ages and expertise an experience that they will remember forever. In recent years, thanks largely to huge stringers being posted by tournament pros, the potential to catch big fish on Lake Amistad has become nationally known. Today, virtually every bass angler in the nation knows this sprawling impoundment spanning the Texas/Mexico border on the outskirts of Del Rio is capable of producing fish of vast proportions.

I currently devote all my attention to staying on the fish, as well as perfecting and developing new techniques to capitalize on all Amistad has to offer. I no longer fish tournaments and do not guide on any other lakes in the area. I choose to devote all my efforts to provide my clients with a learning and productive day of fishing this great lake. The reward of seeing a smile on a new anglers face as well as the shaking his/her hand after a seasoned bass fisherman has landed his biggest fish to date. This provides me with all the excitement and reward I need to feel successful. So if you’re ready to experience a level of hospitality like no other and want to have a trip of a lifetime then please feel free to call me, I am always willing to help and I am at your service.
