Summary: This fabulous high fenced property near Fredericksburg is a golden opportunity for someone looking for a lease type arrangement. Highly improved is only the start of how we could describe Comanche Rock Ranch. Beautiful lodge and compound too unique to describe, with several bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, fully furnished with fine amenities, and a decorative touch that you must see to appreciate. A recreational/lounging area under the oaks beside the lodge includes pool, barbecue area, washer and horseshoe pitching area, and various other luxuries. An indoor skinning and processing facility makes it much easier for hunters to deal with their harvested animals.
Intensive management applications have been in place for several years including high fence, free choice feeding program, food plot program, habitat enhancement through planting and irrigating native shrubs and trees, prescribed burning, pond development, and intensive culling. Quality of whitetails has steadily improved and we are carrying many 150 plus bucks over from last year, and the 181 B & C buck taken last season is a testimony to the results of this program. Other game includes axis deer, blackbuck antelope, wild turkey, and a few aoudads, not to mention fishing. A low fenced area borders Enchanted Rock State Park and has a running water creek going through it. Ranch owner Harley Sullivan is looking for a group who will take care of the property and appreciate the uniqueness of the place. Harvest quota has been set at 8 top end bucks 140 B & C plus, 5 mid range bucks up to 130, and 5 culls. Hunters may also take 3 axis bucks and 2 blackbuck antelope, and limited turkey hunting. Any whitetails taken on the low fenced area which borders the state park do not go against the quota. Though this is not a year around lease, hunters will have access to the property during various windows of time through the course of the year. A full time biologist/ranch manager lives on the property and is available to assist with various related activities. Lodging is fully furnished so that hunters simply need to bring their groceries as everything else is furnished. Ranch takes care of feeders, feed, provides deer stands, and virtually all other equipment needs. Lease price is $60,000. Summary: The Hill Country Outfitters grand slam consists of a Guadalupe bass, the official state fish, a spotted bass, and a largemouth bass. As a licensed Orvis® dealer, Hill Country Outfitters offers top-of-the-line fly fishing gear for the beginner to advanced angler. Hill Country Outfitters offers guided Fly Fishing trips on both private and public waters. Standard cost is $275 for one person or $300 for two. Rivers fished include the Llano, Pedernales, Guadalupe and Medina. We also have beautiful private water, creeks and streams, available for day lease. The cost varies from $75 to $125 per day.
Shonto Ranch - Fishing
Summary: 8 hrs of unguided fishing: $100; 4 hrs of unguided fishing: $60.
Shonto Ranch is carved around four and a half miles of crystal clear, spring-fed creekwater that has been dammed to form ten pristine fishing lakes. Our lakes range in size from 1-3 acres, with most holding deep water with steep dropoffs at the banks. There are some areas suitible for wading, but most fishing is done right from the banks. Shonto Ranch holds four state records for private water when it comes to trout, and every year the records stand to be broken. Depending on temperatures, we generally stock trout around the Thanksgiving holiday, and they are fishable through the end of April. Rainbow & "golden rainbow" trout are stocked in the 1-8 pound range.
