I specialize in seasonal patterns. You can fish with me 5 or 6 times a year and catch fish different ways: being with live shad to throwing top water baits to fishing under balloons, bouncing slabs off the bottom, knocking on wood with crank baits, or even chasing the birds and using soft plastics. At Fisherman's Corner near Canyon Lake the action is always great! Owners Sylvan and Rose DeJardo and family run a down home business for those looking to catch their dinner. "All you have to do is catch 'em and cook 'em - we'll do all the rest”.

For lake anglers, the DeJardo's bait and tackle operation is the largest in the area. They carry all the baits needed for fishing in Central and South Texas - from live bait to hard to find artificial baits. In addition to the bait and tackle operation, they offer guided fishing trips on Canyon, Choke Canyon, LBJ, Buchanan and Amistad lakes as well as freshwater fly fishing on the Hill Country rivers and saltwater fishing on the Texas Coast. 

After a 24-year career in the Navy, Sylvan, Rose and family retired to the Hill Country. While searching for a reliable local bait and tackle shop and coming up empty, they decided the only solution was to open their own business. The shop was initially only opened on weekends, but as demand increased the store's hours of operation were expanded.

It now takes the whole family to operate Fisherman’s Corner. For your convenience, the bait and tackle shop is open 7 days a week.  The catfish ponds are also open daily from sunrise to sunset.

Catfish are emphasized in our business because they are easy and fun for kids of all ages to catch. Kids like the catfish because of their unique appearance, not to mention that they are tasty table fare. We feel catfishing is a great way to introduce kids to fishing and stroke their enthusiasm for the sport.

We offer fully guided fishing trips on several Central Texas Fishing lakes. We fish Navarro Mills,
Aquilla, Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers. Our specialties include Crappie, Hybrid Striped Bass
and White Bass.

Hybrid Striped Bass- We fish on Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers. Both lakes can produce
some excellent fishing. Our preferred methods of catching hybrids in down rigging and trolling. It is
also effective to still or drift fish live bait.

Crappie- We fish Navarro Mills, Aquilla and Richland chambers. Our preferred methods for
catching slabs are Jigs and minnows over suspended fish. My personal favorite is night fishing. At
times those lights can produce not only lots of fish but some huge slabs.

White Bass- We fish Cedar Creek and Richland Chambers the most. Our preferred method of
fishing for White Bass is down riggers, and slabs.

These are just basic examples of how we fish but the methods change from day to day and the
situation.


The Boat- An 18' fully refurbished pontoon. I have found that the pontoon provides much more
comfort and also allows us to go anywhere that most boats can and several places that other styles
of boats can not.
