Summary: Josh, thank you for the very kind words. All of the reasons you said TexasHuntFish.com helped you is exactly why we run this site. Other than East Texas varmint hunting and target shooting with rifles, I had never been big game hunting until I was 30. The more I learned and talked to people, the more I realized there was to learn. The differences of rifle vs. shotgun vs. pistol vs. muzzle loader hunting. The nuances of traditional archery from hunting with a compound. Even the differences in how you hunt whitetail from mule from pronghorn, never mind all of the exotics. We decided to try to figure out a way to use the internet to connect people with knowledge of all the different types of hunting and fishing in Texas with the motivation to not only help me become a better outdoorsmen, but also to share that knowledge with others. Even the "experts" have so much to learn. I have met amazing hunters who are experts in one species or one method of harvest who have the same beginner questions about a new method of hunting or species as someone who has never walked in the woods. "Thank YOU" to all the members and also to Diana, Chris, Debra, Jeremy, and John who help make this site continue to be one of the most popular sites in the world about hunting in texas.

ConchoMan, I am looking forward to hearing your stories... I recommend, since you said you have a blog already, you might want to start by adding your past blog entries that are related to hunting and fishing. Yes, you will probably have more readership on this site than Myspace only because this site is dedicated to hunting and fishing. Guns during bowseason?Summary:
It is unlawful to be in possession of a firearm while hunting with a broadhead HUNTING point during the Archery-Only season, except a person licensed to carry a concealed handgun in Texas may carry a concealed handgun. NOTE: A firearm may be possessed in camp, in a motor vehicle, or while hunting lawful game other than whitetail or mule deer and turkey (e.g., exotics, feral hogs, squirrels). Archery and crossbow equipment may NOT be used to hunt deer during the Muzzleloader-Only Deer Season.
