Hagerman National Wildlife Refuge - bowhunting by permit (outstanding non typicals but difficult to get in)

Lake Lavon and Lake Lewisville by permit - duck hunting

Fishing - numerous lakes.  Lake Fork, east of DFW west of Quitman, is one of the premier largemouth bass lakes in Texas.

Summary:

The redfish are concentrating at the jetties in Port Aransas .Biting mostly on live mullet, croaker , and perch. They are also concetrating in large schools in the Lydia Ann Channel . Flounder are now moving to staging areas to go out to sea.

 This photo of 3 limits of reds with largest being 33" and 26" trout . We caught and released around 50 reds that day. Pictured is Mike ,Whitney and Cory Hubbard.

I was 18 in 1969. Oh and we had a family deer lease near sheffield Texas-----Year round hunting and fishing (About 15miles of Pecos River) 21 sections to hunt at the staggering cost of $37.75 per family per year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How times have changed. At that time us kids would go for the weekend by our selves and never see anyone else. Not the same anymore.   SAD

Summary: The booklet is online as well but it seems that all the sites have very specific limitations. My question is, is this land available to hunt Varmint any time with any legal firearms or is it restricted to specific times and firearms. I am trying to decide if buying a pass is worthwhile as I only have a .22 and am more interested in getting away and fishing more than anything. Does any one have any information on something like this or know anyone with some private land that might be interested in a short term lease? PLEASE HELP!!!!!!!

Guy's, I highly recommend the Brute Box coolers. I bought a Cub 55, and absolutely love it! It's tough as nails. And, it's held ice for me for a solid 5 days so far, which is the longest I've tested it. They are very well made. And, ordering from the Brute Outdoors web site was easy, and the shipping was very fast. I had my cooler in about 3 days. 

My boys with some fish we caught on a fishing trip using the Brute Box Cub 55.
