Allen Christenson is a life-long resident of Austin. After graduating from Lanier High School, he earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas. Allen's service in the airforce included a tour in Viet Nam. Allen and his wife, Benita, live in Austin.

Allen has been fishing successfully on Lake Travis for over 30 years and is well qualified to serve as the most knowledgeable fishing guide on Lake Travis. Allen's prime concern is that his clients catch fish and have an enjoyable learning experience. Since 1979 Allen has also provided his clients with successful trophy bass excursions to Fayette County and Calaveras Lakes.

Lake Travis is full of fish! The black bass fishing on Lake Travis is exceptional year-round. Knowing where and how to fish is essential and Allen Christenson will share his expertise with you. We run our trips out of surfside texas.We specialize in spearfishing but we also do fishing charters or a mix of both. Capt Keith Love holds many world/state records for spearfishing. He has won countless tournaments including the 2009 louisiana state freedive championship. 2008 hell divers rodeo skindiving champion. 2009 hell divers rodeo king spearfisherman. 2009 maximum scuba rodeo king spearfisherman. He placed 5th in the 2008 la paz bluewater world cup. 6th in the 2009 la paz bluewater world cup. He is also a commercial spearfisherman so he knows where the fish are with countless hours underwater.

Year round fishing for Red fish, Trout , and Flounder. Based in Arroyo City, I can accommodate charters from Port Mansfield to South Padre Island. Our focus is light tackle.

You can take a half or full day trip for Speckled Trout, Redfish, and Flounder.  Typically we fish out of the boat over shell, or other bottom structure with a variety of artificial baits. Certain times of the year we work birds chasing pods of shrimp and shad for fast and furious action.  Wade-fishing for Trophy Trout and Redfish is also available upon request.  You won’t have to ask us more than once to wade-fish!

In March, April, September, and October, we offer Bull Redfish trips at the Jetties. These trips are great for families and kids!  These are catch and release trips for BIG fish.

From June through September, you can take a full or half day on the beachfront for Sharks and Tarpon.  We catch Blacktip, Spinner, Bull and the occasional Hammerhead sharks. These fish can be 3 to 8 feet in length, and weigh 200+lbs.  You may also catch Tarpon, Bull Redfish, Jack Fish, and Kingfish.  Our goal is to let you fight as many big fish as possible.  These trips are great for couples, families, and corporate entertainment because it is fast action and all you do is FIGHT FISH!  These trips are also catch and release.

Capt. Josh Arscott with Non-typical Outfitters specializes in flounder gigging and trophy speckled trout on lower Galveston Bay. Getaway Adventures Lodge's standard packages include three nights lodging and two days guided fishing or hunting. Your typical adventure starts with an arrival at Getaway Adventures Lodge and we get you settled into your room and introduce you to our staff.  On the first night, we make reservations at one of the local restaurants and let you settle in at your leisure.

The next morning we wake you up for a Texas Style buffet before hitting the water at daybreak.  Lunch is prepared for you and served on the boat.  Once returning to the dock after a day of fishing, enjoy the evening with finger foods and a tasty adult beverage before dinner at six.  After dinner, enjoy sitting on the deck, or by the pool, or for those that have not had enough fishing for the day, try to catch one of our local tarpon or snook off the docks.
