I specialize in wade fishing, but I enjoy all types of fishing. I determine the type of bait used according to the customers wishes and the time of year. I use only first class equipment, with sponsors that include American Rodsmiths, and MirrOlure. You are assured that you are using the best available equipment. Fishermen of all skill levels are welcome and I especially enjoy fishing with families. Rod and reels are provided if needed. Live bait is extra.

Captain Jack “Jackie” Campbell was born and raised in Seadrift, Texas. Fishing and hunting from an early age, Jackie has an intimate knowledge of the Coastal Bend bay systems from Port O’Connor to Rockport. With 40 years of sightcasting experience, he guides in a custom skiff he built himself that is designed to put fly fishermen in casting distance to big redfish and trout. Jack also fishes out of an 18' Gordon Waterman. Jack caters primarily to Fly Fishing clients. He will also guide parties who wish to use light conventional tackle. If clients do not have Fly Fishing equipment, Jackie can furnish everything necessary, although individuals can use their own gear. Fishing will take place primarily in the Port O’Connor, Seadrift, and Rockport bay systems. Species of fish that are reasonably available include redfish, spotted seatrout, drum, sheepshead, jackfish, and tarpon. What You Should Bring: Texas fishing license, saltwater stamp, polarized sunglassses, lunch and drinks, wading boots, sunblock, hat, and rainjacket.

Captain Rusty Tronicek has been fishing out of Port O'Connor for over 30 years. He has been a regular competitor in local fishing tournaments and often times you would find his name on the winner's board. After many years of fishing for enjoyment, he decided to get his captain's license and is now licensed by the U.S. Coast Guard and Texas Parks and Wildlife. Having these qualifications allows him to share his love of fishing and the open water with you. If you need a day out with the guys, a get-away with your spouse or an enjoyable family trip with the children, a fishing adventure with Rusty's Charters is just what you are looking for. You may fish for red snapper, kingfish, ling, dolphin, shark, barracuda, tuna, amberjack and wahoo. Or fish inshore for trout and redfish. September and October are great months to catch bull reds. We offer you a smooth comfortable ride to the best fishing spots aboard a 30 foot Grady White. The boat leaves the dock at 7:00am and returns around 5:00pm. With new 250 Suzuki 4 stroke motors and 300 gallons of fuel, the crew will get you there and back quickly and safely. Our equipment includes Furuno Radar, Garman GPS, and a Furuno Color Depth Finder. Captain Rusty and crew fish with Penn and Abu Garcia reels matched with Tiger and Ugly Stik rods by Shakespeare. He also provides bait (frozen) for the day and ice on the boat for your day’s catch. Capt. Henry's Guide Service

Capt. Henry has lived in Port O’Connor since September 1994 and was the Postmaster till January 2005. While having a “real job” he used his spare time learning the bays and water ways of the area. He took the U. S. Coast Guard Merchant Marine Officer Training class and is a licensed Boat Captain with Tow Assist Endorsement, and also holds a state of Texas saltwater guides license. Capt. Henry has been a member of the Port O’Connor Chamber of Commerce since he came to POC. He has been a member of the Board of directors, President several times and vice-president. He also served on the board of directors for the Port O’Connor Community Center and was instrumental in raising the funds to build the center, he has also served on many county and community committees. Port O’Connor is well known for it’s mid-coast location and access to West Matagorda Bay, San Antonio Bay, Espiritu Santo Bay, Matagorda Island Surf and jetties, and the great fish that are caught here.
