Fernandez Striper Guide Service

Fernandez Striper Guide Service
Summary:

I have been fishing and catching stripers on the highland lakes for over 20 years. I have caught more trophy stripers than any other guide service on Lake Buchanan. I fish out of a 25 Ft. Tidewater center console boat with twin 150 Yamaha motors equipped with all the latest electronics.  I fish Lake Buchanan in central Texas lakes in the "Highland Lakes" chain on the Colorado River outside of Burnet, Texas and on occasion will fish Inks Lake and Lake LBJ.

I supply everything except food, drinks and personal items and I will clean and bag your catch for you. Fishing on Lake Buchanan is typically good year-round - even periods when the lake is "down", the fish can actually be easier to catch. (keep this in mind during the next drought period!) Why you ask? The fish are there, but there is less water for them to hide in!

Rick Ransom Guide Service

Rick Ransom Guide Service
Summary:

Rick Ransom Guide Service provides guided striper fishing trips on Lake Buchanan, located on the Highland Lakes in Central Texas.  Buchanan is a big lake and its known for excellent striper fishing. The trick is knowing how and where  to catch them, that's where an experienced guide can help. I've been fishing Lake Buchanan since 1985 and have been working as a full- time striper guide since 1992.

I have been a fisherman for 40 years and enjoy showing people how to catch fish.  I fish with live bait, either drifting or anchored. Striper fishing on Lake Buchanan is generally good year round, with August and September being the slowest months. What time of day is up to you - we do morning, afternoon or full day trips. Limits on striper  are 5 fish, 18" or longer per person.

We provide everything you need, bait, rods & reels and filet and bag your catch. The only thing you'll need to take care of are food & drinks, and of course an ice chest to carry your catch home.   Be sure you bring your current, valid  Texas fishing license . Kids under 17 can fish without a license.

Our boat is a 2005 270cc Seapro powered by twin 255hp Hondas.  The boat is equipped with a large t-top for shade, Lorance LCX 104 fish finder, and a head for the ladies and accommodates up to 6 people.

Lake Buchanan is the largest of the Texas Highland Lakes at 22,300 acres.  Located west of the town of Burnet, on the Colorado River, it is known throughout the Texas Hill Country for its excellent striped bass fishing. Other fish species include white bass, largemouth bass, catfish and crappie.

I work out of Paradise Point Resort in Tow, but will pick up at most resorts on Lake Buchanan. Please contact me to make arrangements.

Highland Lakes Fly Fishing

Highland Lakes Fly Fishing
Summary:

"Fly-fishing in Central Texas! You're kidding right?"  I've heard those words many times over the past twenty years. Actually, Central Texas offers great opportunities to fly fish for a variety of species and those opportunities are available twelve months of the year. The Texas Hill Country is a fly fisherman's paradise. From crystal clear spring-fed streams to deep impoundments. Hill Country fly fishing is all about variety.

I live on the Highland Lakes and have been fishing these lakes for over 20 years. Fishing has always been a big part of my life. As a child, I fished every chance that I could. The desire to feel a fish pulling on my line has never dimmed, in fact it grew stronger. While I truly enjoy fishing, I discovered that I also enjoyed taking others' fishing. Putting someone on their first fish, teaching a client a new technique, or just showing a friend a new stretch of water are just a few of the reasons that I started guiding.

EPIC Angling & Adventure, LLC

Summary:

EPIC Angling & Adventure offers two uniquely different destinations located on the wild and pristine Alaska Peninsula. Neither trip is diluted with “everything” but instead is highly focused on providing the absolute best Alaska wilderness fishing opportunities based on geography and time of year.

Alaska Wilderness Safari, according to the book, Fifty Places to Fly Fish Before You Die is "...arguably the most isolated coastal fishing camp in Alaska, and one of the best places in the world to pursue chrome-bright, ocean-fresh silver salmon."

Alaska Wilderness Outpost is a rustic tundra camp where lack of plush facilities is over shadowed by the mouse fishing for the rainbow trout and the incredible battles with giant king salmon.

We hope you find a trip that is right for you.
