We fish the Texas inshore coast from Port Aransas to Port Isabelle. The Texas Coastal Bend and the southern Texas Gulf coast comprise over 600 square miles of shallow flats with an average depth of 2 to 3 feet that nature designed with the fly and light tackle angler in mind. South Texas, with its’ extremely mild winters offers anglers year round access to most species. However, as we all know, nature runs in cycles. while most anglers can encounter “personal best” fish of most species at any time - the likelihood of record class fish fall into windows that vary somewhat for different species. tackle and methods vary at different times of the year as well. Contact me if you have specific goals in mind and I will try to advise you accordingly. OffshoreOffshore, Yankee Skipper specializes in inshore - flats & lake trips. Summary:
Capt Michael Lauret fishes the entire Galveston bay complex, year round depending on the fish location and method the client wants to use. I either wade fish or drift taking into account the client's desire and the location of the fish at the time. I use primarily artificial baits for fishing throughout the bays, but when fishing the jetties I will use live bait. Kids are welcomed and encouraged as I used to take my sons fishing twice a week for years until they started going themselves, so kids are more than welcome. I am used to clients that have never fished and I enjoy watching them quickly learn to catch fish as if they have done it all of their lives. Hillman Guide Service
