Whitetail, Exotics, Turkey and Fishing all on 13,000 acres in the heart of Texas Hill Country. 

The lodge and grounds sits on top of a 200 foot bluff overlooking the beautiful south Llano River.  Approximately 700 individual springs empty about 20 million gallons of spring water a day into the river.

The ranch has three houses which provide comfortable accomodations for 30 guests.  The ranch and facilities offer 13,000 acres, including 5-1/2 miles of private river.

Deep Creek Hunting Ranch consists of 6,000 acres of prime wheat fields and rolling mesquite pastures. Spread out among the various properties are 31 stock tanks with bass, perch and catfish.

ANNUAL LEASES are available each year for parts of the ranch. If annual leases are full for this year, day hunting and lodging is still open.

The majority of our hunting acreage is in an area near the Brazos River. The countryside consists of rolling hills with large, thick mesquites, prickley pear and scattered fields of cultivation; creating the perfect habitat for elusive trophy white tail deer, Rio Grande turkey, Bob White quail and wild hog. Many ducks migrate into our area stock tanks (ponds) each winter. Bring a camera, fishing rod, bow or gun and enjoy the peaceful relaxing beauty of the countryside and nature.

Fishhooks Adventures is a full service fishing and hunting outfitter.  Captain Steve Nixon has been fishing and hunting south Texas for over 30 years.  Steve is a United States Coast Guard Captain and a licensed Texas Parks and Wildlife All Water Guide.  

Capt. Steve fishes Matgorda Bay, Espiritu Santo Bay, San Antonio Bay and the back lakes of these bays.  He will cater to all anglers - from Corporate to just some friends going fishing.  Fish in comfort from a 22' Mosca Tunnel V Bay Radier with a 150 HP Yamaha,.

HE SPECIALIZES IN FISHING LIVE BAIT AND ARTIFICIAL LURES.  FISHING FOR ALL SPECIES OF FRESH AND SALT WATER FISH.  HE CAN ACCOMODATE WADE, DRIFT AND BOAT FISHING.  HE CAN MAKE YOUR HUNTING TRIP MEMORABLE, WHETHER HUNTING WATERFOWL OR DEER.

Nueces Canyon Lodge

Summary:

Nueces Canyon Lodge was developed to take advantage of the tremendous white wing and mourning dove concentrations that Central Texas offers. (TTHA)

The accommodations consist of four ranch style homes.  Three are 3 bedroom/3 private baths, and the fourth is located by the river and sleeps 10 with 2 bathrooms.  We can service up 40 hunters at a time. The Upper House is well suited for larger groups and provides a sitting or meeting room. The Lower House accommodates smaller groups and couples.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner are served at our new 2000 square foot restaurant along with our open complimentary bar. In addition to other amenities we have satellite television, pool and card tables and access to the Nueces River for fishing, swimming or relaxing.

When you arrive at the lodge on the first day, you are taken to your room to get settled in. A casual lunch and social mixer is served at the restaurant to provide you a chance to meet and greet your fellow hunters and our staff.  Orientation is provided before you leave for your first hunt. 

Upon return from the hunt, your birds will be tended to and you will be given time to freshen up before dinner.

Captain Darrell Adell is USCG / TPW licensed and has been fishing the Texas Gulf Coast for over 20 years. His specialty is wade and drift fishing for trophy trout and redfish on the Galveston and Matagorda Bay Complexes.

Capt. Adell runs a 2004 JH Performance B-240, powered by a 2005 200hp Honda 4-stroke motor and equipped with Garmin GPS, VHF Radio and Cell phone. You will enjoy some of Texas finest fishing grounds aboard a smooth and dry riding well equipped 24 ft. JH Performance boat.

Full Day 6:30am-3:00pm
This trip includes fishing up to 30 miles offshore; Trolling, bottom, wreck and structure fishing,   targeting Kingfish, Ling, Spanish Mackerel and Snapper.

Deepwater 5:30am-4:30pm
Fishing 30 to 50 miles offshore, consisting of trolling, wreck and bottom fishing, structure fishing, drift fishing on weed lines, targeting Dorado, Wahoo, Kingfish, larger Snapper, Grouper and more.

Half-day, approximately 5 hours
Half-day excursions are normally week days during the summer months.  Fishing up to 10 miles offshore (license required) consisting of trolling & drifting for Kingfish and Spanish Mackerel (summer) and bottom fishing near shore structure (winter).

The boat is a 27' World Class Catamaran specializing in offshore trolling, drift and bottom fishing with ample room for up to 6 people. Powered with 2 x 200HP This vessel can move- 37 MPH Cruise 54 MPH top. Forget the old Sports Fishers that make you endure a 6 hour boat ride with only 3 hours of fishing. This twin hull boat gets you to the fish FAST! it offers a smooth, stable ride that you just don't get in a single hull boat.  And YES - we still have an enclosed private toilet.

We have a good time fishing.  Let the wind blow because we don't have any cares in the world.  Cap'n Bennie will put you on the fish. Sometimes it's Reds or Trout, sometimes it's Drum. He generally always finds something on beautiful Baffin Bay.  Known for its trophy size trout, Baffin Bay has hidden underwater "Rocks" that protect the fish and let's them forage for food. The secret is knowing where those rocks lie.  Cap'n Bennie Whisler has a few other ideas as well that will put you on the fish.  Half day or whole day, bait or lures, you will have the time of your life fishing Baffin Bay.
You must have a Texas Fishing License with a saltwater stamp if you are 17 years or older. Check the regulations to be sure you will be in compliance.

Capt. Charles Bujan is licensed by the United States Coast Guard and the State of Texas. He was born and raised in Port Aransas.  His Grandfather, Father and Uncles were all boatmen and fishermen.  He knows the bay and flats areas well, and most of all, loves to fish. He is a fishing guide who is "people oriented."  His 21' 2008 Dargel Tunnel Boat, powered by a 150 h.p. YAMAHA engine with jackplate, is built to get into those areas not easily accessible to other boats. This boat has a CANOPY FOR SHADE and is built for the shallow water fishing that Capt. Bujan does and has plenty of open space to do just that.

Roy Lee Evans' Blue Cyclone Charters is a third generation South Texas fisherman.  Having fished this area since he could walk, he has the experience that gives him an advantage that pays off in "results". He knows the exact areas to fish, he knows the type of bottom you'll find (boggy or hard sand) and he knows how to catch fish...redfish, trout and flounder!

Capt. Roy Lee fishes north up to the land cut and south to Port Isabel, the entire lower Laguna Madre if needed. Roy Lee prefers to wade fish for reds & trout and mainly uses artificial bait which he furnishes his customers. Whatever type of fishing you like (wading or drifting), Capt. Roy Lee Evans will provide you with an exciting trip to suit your style of fishing.  Need some instruction? Not sure how to fish? Capt. Roy Lee can teach you and show you some of the techniques that help insure a successful day on the water.

Roy Lee can fish up to four people and, if needed for larger groups, he can arrange for additional boats and guides.

Captain's Suggestions:
All you need to bring is your food & drinks which will be stored in the onboard ice chest. Other items: Sunglasses, cap or fishing hat, suitable boat-shoes and sunscreen are advised.

You must have a valid Texas Fishing License and Saltwater stamp.
