The fish caught on April 24, weighed 8.91 kg (19 lb 10 oz) and has been submitted for a girl’s smallfry record potentially replacing the current 18 lb 4 oz mark set April 11, 1988.

Summary:
The same Lake Deifenbaker may produce another record for a catch made May 20 by Aaron Wiebe, Howden, MB, Canada, who landed a rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). It took Wiebe nine minutes to land using a night crawler for bait on 6 kg (12 lb) class line. The fish weighed 16.27 kg (35 lb 14 oz). The current record is 33 lb 6 oz pulled from the same lake July 2006. |
