This was my first trip to Bucks and Boars and it will definitely be an annual trip for me.  Bobby and Connie are wonderful hosts.  I helped Connie skin and quarter my doe while Bobby helped anotherhunter track his deer.  The whole experience was wonderful.

MAY '04 WAS MY SECOND VISIT TO THE E.TOM RANCH, AND JUST LIKE MY FIRST IN SEPT.'03, IT WAS VERY ENJOYABLE. BOTH TRIPS TO THE RANCH EXCEEDED MY EXPECTATIONS IN ALL AREAS. I HUNTED HOGS ON BOTH TRIPS WITH SUCCESS. FOR AN OFF-SEASON HUNT OR WITH A PACKAGE, YOU CAN'T BEAT HOG HUNTING WITH THE E.TOM RANCH. BESIDES KEEPING YOUR HUNTING SKILLS SHARP, YOU CAN ALSO FILL THAT EMPTY SPACE IN YOUR FREEZERS. THIS PAST MAY I ALSO TRIED MY LUCK ON A TEXAS TURKEY, WHICH I'M VERY PLEASED WITH THE OUTCOME (28 LBS, 10 INCH BEARD, 1 INCH SPURS). I normally have one of these complaints to respond to each year. I consider that very minimal considering the number of hunters that hunt with us each season. When talking with Mr Roundtree and setting up his hunt dates, we had agreed on the dates of Dec 3-Dec 8, because I enter the dates in my callender date book. When his booking sheet was recieved the office did not check to make sure all information was correct, such as the dates. When it was discovered several months later that the dates were incorrect he was imediately notified. As he stated he was accomadated for those dates as we felt that it was our mistake for not catching that immediately. I recall no prior conversation as to the full credit of the deposit. I know of no Ranch that offers such a credit. As for the type of buck that that was to be taken, our web site has always stated 8 or 9 points only. One only needs to call any hunter that has ever hunted with us to verify this. Now we get to Josh the guide. Josh is a very capable young man. However this was his first opportunity to guide deer hunters as his experiance was limited to East Texas hog hunting. Josh had a problem, among others, of not following instructions. If you beat the brush in this country you drive the game from the area. That is why we blind hunt and cannot let the guides take "initiative". I would not want to come on a hunt where the group before me had beat the brush and driven the game from the area. We have been in business for 8 years now and hope to be her for years to come. Without management practices in place we could not continue to take quality deer each year. I say again, if you as a hunter have situations that you are not happy with, discuss them with your outfitter while you are there. Don't wait until you get home to become a Man and get on your computer.

First class accomodations, excellent food and hospitality, excellent skeet shooting, rifle and pistol range and archery range.  Abundant wildlife.

My wife and I were the 5th members to join this lease in May 0f 2008. The fee's and cost that were quoted to us in the paperwork we signed never changed. We knew what we were getting and what the total cost would be. Hunterdan, whoever he is because I can't remember anyone named Dan at the lease, but he was right about the doe hunt the first 2 weeks of the season but neglected to mention that whoever brought in the most would receive a free membership for the next year along with whoever brought in the biggest buck during the season. Sure, food plots are alot of hard work, but I have seen the results by what have been harvested. I also have great game cam pics of deer that I have never seen while sitting in my blind. Guess that's why we call it hunting. I have hunted many leases in the past 45 years and this is one of the best family leases I have seen. Any given weekend you can see kid's running around having a good time and hunting with their parents. The only time I think a fine would be imposed is if you didn't renew and pulled out and left a big mess for someone else to clean up. I think that is only right.I would recommend this lease and will continue to renew as long as they will have me.

This was my second trip to hunt with Bobby and Connie.  It had been a couple years since my first trip.  I shouldn't have waited.  My Brother and I went this time and just like the first time Bobby and Connie were GREAT!  I'd put money on it that you won't find a nicer more accommodating pair in this business.  The property is beautiful. The accommodations are just right and the conversation is unforgettable.    The hunting was exactly what fair chase should be. Bobby will put it to you straight, they'll show you what they have, and then it’s up to you.  The opportunities are definitely there for seeing game.  My brother and I both took deer while we were there. It turned out to be a very enjoyable and successful weekend.

A couple things of note: 

1. Ask Bobby about his number one spot. HA HA. The "price" is a little steep but well worth it.  I’m sold.

2. Book a weekend in the cabins.  On Saturdays Connie is gonna feed you.  I recommend the GUMBO.  The chocolate pie was pretty good too!

Bottom line…if you want an enjoyable fair chase hunting opportunity with a family friendly atmosphere, book a hunt with Bobby and Connie. You won’t be disappointed.
