Blue-Wings on the Texas PrairieSummary: We held our 9th annual teal hunt this past September near my home town of El Campo, Tx, when 11 disabled hunters come in for a weekend of duck hunting. Two of our guys, Mikey Sellers from Louisiana & Josh Wilhelm from Texas, were new injuries and it was their first time back in the field. We have a...
First Hunt, First BuckSummary: Ok, so here is the story with my first buck, on my first real outing as a deer hunter. Get up at about 4:30 on Saturday morning, take a quick shower, eat some breakfast and realize that I am hungover. So I slam a lot of water, a monster, and continue getting ready. Finally we are all geared ...

Driving down one of the Farm to Market Roads, one will pass huge fields of verdant green winter wheat on either side of the roadway, and then head down a grade into some of the most rugged, beautiful coun...
Disabled Teal hunt in September
Summary:
We held our 9th annual teal hunt this year in El Campo, Tx, and had 11 disabled hunters come in for the weekend. 2 guys were new injuries and it was their first time back in the field. We had 8 different landowners and several volunteers who gave up their time to help guide our hunters. After a roast duck dinner on Friday at the Texana Seed Co. in Garwood, hunters were paired with their guides and friendships were rekindled. Also, we worked with some of the hunters who needed some "on-the-spot" adaptive equipment to test out on the teal hunts. In 2 days, the group downed about 85 ducks in all and everyone had good action. Some even got to see that some things are still possible even after traumatic injuries.
Texas hunting costs?Summary: I'm mainly venting so please don't be offended. I'm just looking for some answers. I'm kinda new to Texas. The Army shipped me here in dec 99. I've been out for a while, but I've stayed here with the mortgage, suv, kids...etc. I'm from West Virginia so I love to hunt, but never hunted Texas until ...
