Field & Stream magazine gave top honors to the best new hunting and outdoor products yesterday,announcing thirty winners in eleven categories in the magazines annual "Best of the Best" round-up. Winning products were battle-tested by the magazine's expert panel of gear fanatics to ensure they're up to snuff. "Best of the Best" winners, along with other notable outdoor gear, are featured in Field & Stream's September issue, on newsstands August 21.

Sportsmen have a solid history of voting, with 9 in 10 currently registered to vote and of those 83 percent say they will vote in the November election, according to a new survey by the Congressional Sportsmen's Foundation. Overall, there are an estimated 40 million sportsmen of voting age in the United States.

Over 200 Tree Stand Safety Experts have been qualified to teach tree stand safety to hunter education instructors and other professional safety educators. These Experts have successfully completed an intensive eight hour course on tree stand safety and are now a part of the Project STAND (Stop Tree stand Accidents 'N Deaths) initiative.

Yamaha Motor Corp., U.S.A., has taken two of the outdoor industry's most prestigious honors -- earning both of Field & Streammagazine's 2008 "Best of the Best" awards for off-road vehicles. This is the first year the publication's editorial staff handed out separate awards for an ATV and a Side-by-Side (SxS) vehicle, and they recognized Yamaha for offering the best of both worlds in the Grizzly 550 FI with Electric Power Steering (EPS) and Rhino 700 FI.
