Local, state, and national groups continue to sign on to an effort to defeat a Texas House Bill that could put many sporting dog and hobby breeders out of existence. 

It’s a family affair at Skeeter Bass Champs. The top three teams all fished with fellow family members and came out winners at Choke Canyon April 30, 2011.

The Bassmaster Elite Series field was on Toledo Bend on Monday morning for the first of three days of practice for the TroKar Battle on the Bayou. The April 14-17 event will mark the halfway point in the eight-event regular season, and the halfway point in the 2011 Toyota Tundra Bassmaster Angler of the Year race.

Ninety-nine of the most talented anglers in bass fishing-representing 27 states and one foreign country-are headed to Toledo Bend Lake on the Louisiana-Texas border for one of America's premier fishing competitions, April 14-17.

A bill introduced in Texas would require sporting dog owners to purchase liability insurance for many of their dogs.  Texas sportsmen should contact their state representatives today and ask them to oppose House Bill 998. 

The Texas Wildlife Association welcomes Mary Pearl Meuth to its Conservation Legacy team. Mary Pearl will be working as an independent contractor in the Houston and surrounding area. Her focus will be youth education.
