Texas Youth Pig Out at 1st Annual ADWA Pigapalooza Hog Hunt

With all the recent talk of pork bill spending in Washington, nearly two dozen young boys and girls with their fathers enjoyed the thrill of the hunt and the taste of pork without deficit spending. The American Deer & Wildlife Alliance recently hosted its 1st Annual Pigapalooza Youth Hog Hunt at DB Hunting Ranch in Bertram, Texas, and sponsored hog hunting opportunities for 20 children, ages eight to 15.

The 4th Annual Texas-National Archery in the Schools Program
(TASP) Tournament will take place Feb. 27 at the Waco Convention Center. Rising attendance at this yearly culminating event for participating Texas schools charts the program’s increasing popularity.
The first TASP tournament in Texas took place in February 2006, with 126 students representing 13 schools. The third annual championship last March drew 476 students, and attendance at this year’s tournament is expected to approach 700 students, teachers and parents.

Top Youth Shooters In Texas Compete In Annual Whiz-Bang

Fifteen of the top youth shotgun shooters from across Texas vied for more than $28,000 in prizes at the 15th Annual Whiz-Bang 4-H Shooting Sports event, held Oct. 3 at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Expo grounds in Austin.

This event is not just for deer hunters - wing shooters listen up!

Summary:

If you shoot skeet or know anyone that does, don’t miss out on the pre-event skeet registration special ($20 now, $35 on the day of).  It’s also open to beginners, who can seriously win prizes (especially if they pay for extra shells!).
