Summary:
Came across the pictures of the 10 pt. taken in Pennsylvania in 1985. I posted my cousin on a high spot on private property, property that I know very well. I then did a one man silent push of the area and this guy came sneaking in with 5 doe and stopped under a big pine tree about 65 yards from my cousin. He knew the buck had antlers but couldn't tell how big he was because of the pine branches. One shot from his Remington 760 30-06 pump dropped the him where he stood. I got to the deer before him and found him to be spine shot. Told my cousin what was going on and he wanted me to cut his throat. I just kept telling him you don't want me to do that but he was persistent. I refused and told him to come over NOW. When he saw it he understood why. Ended up putting one finishing shot to him. The irony to this story was that when we got up that morning sleet was falling and he wasn't going to go into the woods. Told him I was going with or without him. Needeless to say he was glad I convinced him to go. Check out this Piebald Buck
Summary: When I was stationed in Maryland at Ft. George G. Meade in the mid 70's I saw a piebald doe. From her legs up including half her body was white with brown splotches. One characterist that really set her off was that her ears were giangantic and floppy. This took place during archery season and she came through at about 50 yards. Would have liked to taken her but won't ever shoot that far.
the huntSummary: Marvin, sounds like you had a good time. This past weekend was a great one for me. My son was finally able to get away from Dyess to hunt with me and we each got a deer. Him a buck and me a doe. He can now go back to the grasslands to fill his USFS doe tag and I can attempt to fill my buck tag. My favorite hotspot paid off. Saw deer in there opening weekend and others besides the ones we harvest this past weekend.
Caddo NGL huntSummary: Well Saturday (11th) turned out to be a super day at the grasslands. My son was finally able to get away from Dyess AFB and come over to hunt with me. We got there well before daylight and went into my favorite hotspot. Set my son up in a pop-up blind (only because of a severe knee injury he receiv...
