South Texas buck I wanted to let a couple of more years grow but to afraid my neighbors who have the it's brown it's down motto would take it.

I was hunting with my mom. It was a cold morning.We saw a doe come out and went under the fence and to the other ranch.Later the same doe comes out at about  thirty five yards away. I got ready and my 223 went off. The doe fell on its tracks. My mom was jumping in joy inside the blind. My dad and mom were very proud of me.

Just thought I would share the biggest deer I have ever shot.  Not to mention with my bow.  My son was not sure what to think of the ole buck.  I think my taxidermist did a very good job especially for $50.00.   By the way, if you can tell the color of the horns,  they are not dyed.  Everyone who has seen the deer ask if they were.

Shot this free-range Axis last Monday night south of Junction.  His horns were about 31" long and he was one old coot, to the point where his coat was turning lighter.

Wish I had some better pictures but it was raining/misting and the wind was up.

Beautiful 12 pointer I just discovered was on our lease. Would love to get a shot at him.

I don't like the coyotes either, but you gotta hand it to this guy, He made a plan and it worked.  Don't know if the Deer was killed, but there was no blood or tufts of hair to be found. Maybe the Deer got away.
