Search Results:Megalodon Shark?
Summary:
I'm not sure there have been large sharks 25+ feet recorded. Which would make them larger then the one in the jaws movie. I also have read stories about huge sharks coming up out of the Marianas Trench but theres no confirmed sightings of them. I doubt that it would be a Megalodon it is probably just some unknown deep sea shark. November Tuna fishing trip out of Port AransasSummary:
The date is for November 8th. 24 hour trip, leaving at either 5 or 6 am on the Gulf Eagle out of Deep Sea Headquarters in Port Aransas. Cost is $250 a person for up 10 folks, then $150 after that. We have 13 currently. We want to limit it to 20 or so folks. 20 brings the cost to $200 per. This is a tuna trip, meaning we are going to target Black-fin and (hopefully)Yellow-fin tuna. Some will bottom fish when we anchor up for Amberjacks or grouper, etc. But it is a tuna focused trip. The two main ways of fishing the G.E does is to chum behind shrimp boats to bring up the tuna. Everyone fishes when drifting behind the shrimpers. At night or when anchored, the stern will be down current and they'll have 7-8 folks fishing off the back. When a tuna is hooked up they clear that person off the back and another person steps up and starts to fish immediately. When the tuna are thick under the lights at night or when anchored on the rocks out there, your wait won't be long. That's why we're limiting it to 20, 25 max. After a full day fishing you will want to take a short break from fishing after catching a tuna. We went last year around the same time, on a 12 hour trip, and had to leave them biting, even then the captain stayed out an hour later than scheduled. We had 3 folks on the boat last year who had fished for tuna, the rest had only been kingfishing, etc, or had caught nothing bigger than stripers. Everyone caught a tuna or two and were amazed how tough they fought. Not to mention how good it is on the grill! We hooked and lost a White Marlin and lost a about 60 lb Y-fin on the last trip, lots of these freshwater folks don't know about having to MOVE when the big fish hit. Those were the first two fish of the morning. We're going to have a blast this year, tuna really bite well at night and usually the weather off-shore in early November is awesome. Email me if if either of yall are interested, it will be a awesome trip. Blue marlin impales angler - this is crazy!Summary: Man, that's scary!
I remember reading one of those "It happened to me!" type stories in some outdoor magazine years ago about a guy who went out alone deep sea fishing, and had a marlin jump in the boat with him. Its bill impaled his HEEL, and as the fish flopped around in the boat, it bashed the guy unconcious and, of course, broke his radio. At least the bill was broken off of the fish when he woke up, but it was still through his heel. Lesson: Don't go out alone. ~Rick B and B Offshore and Bay ChartersSummary: Texas Deep Sea fishing is not only thrilling but a mystery as well – you never know what’s at the end of your line!
