SB 332 by Sen. Troy Fraser reaffirms that landowners have a vested ownership interest in groundwater below the surface and acknowledges the current authority of groundwater conservation districts.  TWA strongly supports SB 322, and the issue is a priority legislative goal of the organization.

The Texas Wildlife Association supports Senate Bill 332 by Senator Troy Fraser (R-Horseshoe Bay).  Senate Bill 332 clarifies that landowners have an ownership interest in the groundwater beneath their land. 

The Texas Wildlife Association welcomes Mary Pearl Meuth to its Conservation Legacy team. Mary Pearl will be working as an independent contractor in the Houston and surrounding area. Her focus will be youth education.

The staff of the Texas Sunset Advisory Commission has made two recommendations regarding the sunset review of the Texas Water Development Board that are very conerning to the Texas Wildlife Association.

TWA and Texas property owners are celebrating a November 5 Texas Supreme Court ruling that protects the private property rights of Texas residents.

The Texas Wildlife Association supports groundwater as a vested, real property right, and TWA President Tina Y. Buford on Thursday told members of the House Committee on Natural Resources that TWA strongly believes it is in the best interests of the citizens of our state to continue to recognize this right because this vested, protectable right promotes conservation and management of our groundwater.
