Texas tournament anglers will have even more opportunities to cash in on the 2012 season with the launch of the all-new Texas Team Trail. The tournament circuit, designed exclusively for team competition, will begin March 10th, 2012 and will include a total of 4 qualifying events, plus a year-end Championship.

Adding to a growing list of sponsors, Sportsman Channel and National Hunting and Fishing Day will continue to partner throughout the 2011 year. NHF Day takes place on the fourth Saturday in September, which is Sept. 24, 2011.

Golden alga (Prymnesium parvum) has once again impacted two very important reservoirs and fisheries on the Brazos River system. Texas Parks and Wildlife Department biologists have been monitoring golden alga blooms and resulting fish kills on both Possum Kingdom Reservoir and Lake Whitney.

Sportsman Channel's Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM initiative is coming to Houston's Star of Hope Mission to help feed local residents in need on Friday, April 16 at 4:30pm. The Hunt.Fish.Feed.SM initiative is a unique outreach program that taps an underutilized food source-game meat and fish donated by sportsmen-to feed those struggling with hunger across America.

More than a thousand rainbow trout are swimming in the pond at The Nature Center in Tyler, and young anglers are invited to come catch them during spring break March 8-11.
