I have  4 guys in my group, but willing to buy extra spots, so we can have lease to ourselfs. Prefer a year round lease no more than 3.5 hours any direction from Austin, tx. Water and electricity a plus, cabin is a plus but not a deal breaker. We would like the lease to be at least 800 acres or more depending on terrian. Budget simply depends on location, and amenities; realisticly not wanting to pay more than $2500 a gun. We are willing to follow any and all rules and are easy to work with.

I usually buy a bale and drop a few blocks on the ground and usually will pour milo on it for the quail. Deer don't seem to eat it much.

One of my favorite knives is a Buck Model 110 Folding Hunter, link here.  Its time-tested (45+ years), holds a very good edge, sits in your hand well, and won't break the bank at $48.00 or less.  You can buy them at Cabela's, Academy, online, or even Wal-Mart. And, its USA-made.  My son loves his.

Also, if you're not used to sharpening knives, or if you're like me and just have a hard time getting an edge, the best and most straightforward sharpeners I've ever owned is a Lansky Sharpener, details here (I bought the deluxe model).  I've tried for years to find something that consistently works, and this does.

When you buy your hunting license,ask for the "annual public land hunting permit".Most of the time they will know what you are talking about.Then about four days later,a map book full of places to go and rules will show up.good luck.
