Search Results:The longest twenty three yard shot of my life
Summary:
My dad and I went hunting one Saturday morning. It was about eight in the morning when a nice eight pointer comes out from a dry bed. My dad said to get ready cause he was goint to try and call him in. After a few grunts the buck comes out about thirty yards. I come to a full draw and out goes my arrow. Boom my arrow hits a limb on a tree. The nice buck was never to be seen again. I look at my dad and he smiles and says, thats bowhunting buddy. Well after a short meal we head back out to our ground blind. It was about two o clock. At three o clock my dad says a nilgai cow was coming our way.I got ready and the nilgai cow spotted my movement. She stopped turn and headed back the way she was coming in. I was like there went my chance at harvesting an animal for this season. An hour passed when a nilgai bull was coming our way. He was coming in fast. He stopped at twenty three yard facing striaght at me. My dad said to draw and wait for him to get broadside. A minute passed and no one would move. I whispered to my dad that I could not hold it anymore. He said wait just a litlle longer. I was like I cant. So he gave me the go. I tell you all he had not finished the word go when my arrow was flying striaght at his chest. Down went the bull then got up and ran thirty yards till it ran no more. My dad and I jumped about five feet high. Wow what a season for me with two bow kills My Best Bull Ever
Summary:
I took this 350 class bull last Sunday in the Rio Grand National Forest. It is a free range bull self guided and done with friends. It took us till 3am to get this big boy off the mountain. Great time with great friends. fishing on the Rio Grande was great as well with the mild temps. We had orginally had been invited and planned on hunting a big farm in Iowa but did not draw the tags. We then decided to go buy leftover Bull tags and go to Colorado. Boy am I glad we did and so is my Taxidermist the antlers alone weiegh 35 pounds and my taxidermist aged him between 11 and 12 years old. He has scares all over his face from battles in the past. My friend also found a really big 6 point shed as well while hunting Exotic - Trophy Nilgai Bull
