Well, it has been a month since this buck has been on camera, but I am pretty sure this is him in the last couple of days. A nice Hill Country deer.

Thinking about game camera placement as it relates to feed and water location can result in unique photos. I have been trying to capture this buck as he either smells something of interest or gets a drink of water from a trough.

Whether hunting with a bow, pistol, slug or crossbow, if you want a close encounter with a mature buck, set up your blind near a rub. Go walk deer trails on your land and keep your eye out for one of these.

This is a great new invention called "Feeder Meeter". You attach it to your deer feeder and it is a visual aid to help determine if the buck you are looking at meets the 13" rule.
