Summary: I hunt a ranch deep south texas, we have been feeding corn year round and bagged some decent buck this year. I would imagine protien feed is better for the deer with the lack of rain, can anyone let me know what is a good protien feed for whitetails, or is it too late to starting feeding that?

Shot this free-range Axis last Monday night south of Junction.  His horns were about 31" long and he was one old coot, to the point where his coat was turning lighter.

Wish I had some better pictures but it was raining/misting and the wind was up.
