Just thought I would share the biggest deer I have ever shot.  Not to mention with my bow.  My son was not sure what to think of the ole buck.  I think my taxidermist did a very good job especially for $50.00.   By the way, if you can tell the color of the horns,  they are not dyed.  Everyone who has seen the deer ask if they were.

It was my second year at the refuge. I was hoping to shoot something this year and not miss like last year.It was almost time to head home. I was getting worried that i was not going to shot something this year to. I had just started to pick up my things when i felt something was staring at me. I turned around and there it was standing and staring at me. It was 8 yards away from me. I got my bow and drew. It started to walk in the woods so i made a noise and it stopped. pufff!!!! my arrow was off. it was a double lung shot. It took off and fell 20 yards from where i shot it. It was one of the best days of my life.

Got my first bow kill 10/21/2011 it was a 100 lbs. doe 12 yard shot in the spine dropped in her tracks, you talk about feel the rush baby.

After three years of waiting I got him.  The biggest deer I have ever shot and with my bow.  To my disbelief he was in rut.  When he came in he was running a couple of does.  After  shooting him, as I walked up to him, I could smell him from ten feeet away and his neck was swollen.  Thought it was knid of early for rut in cass county.  It took all two of us had to load him in the back of the ranger. The biggest body deer I have ever shot also.  Oh yeah, he is a ten point with a 14 1/2" spread.  I will try to put another picture of him on the hoof to show the size of his body.

Well we are half way through the “Spring Fling” and we sure hope you are enjoying it.  We have some very exciting hunts coming your way for the second half as well.  We end the first half with my wife as she makes her first ever bow kill!  Things were perfect.  It was Mother’s Day and the daughter, wife, and I set out to fill her tag.  After shooting her bird it ran off and we reviewed the footage.  Then we came across some fawns and the camera man taped over all the after excitement, etc.  As a camera man, I am just as excited as the hunter and I too make mistakes.  At least we still got the shot on film…
